CHILD-FRIENDLY DECEITFUL PRIDE WARNING
Obadiah 1:3 GNT
Your pride has deceived you.
Your capital is a fortress of solid rock; your home is high in the mountains,
and so you say to yourself, 'Who can ever pull me down?'
Do you know what pride
means? Pride is when you think you are better than everyone—even better than
God! Pride is dangerous because it makes us disobey God.
A long time ago, an angel
named Lucifer was very proud. He was beautiful and led worship in heaven, but
he wanted to be greater than God. He whispered lies to other angels and made
them follow him. Because of pride, they all fell and became demons as seen in Revelation
12:9.
Pride is still a big problem
today. The devil whispers lie to people, saying things like:
· “You
don’t need God.”
· “You
can do things your own way.”
· “Just
use crystals or magic instead of reading the Bible.”
But those are lies! The only
way to live right is to follow Jesus and read God’s Word. Pride makes our
hearts hard, but God wants us to stay humble and trust Him.
The Bible says in Psalm
51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” That’s what we should pray every
day so pride doesn’t take over our hearts.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Why is pride dangerous?
2. What lies does the devil tell people today?
3. How can you stay humble and close to God?
4. What can you do every day to keep your heart
clean?
PRAYER: Dear God, please
take away pride from my heart. Help me to stay humble and obey You. All glory
belongs to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom!
