CHILD FRIENDLY DECLUTTER YOUR SOUL!
Matthew 23:25-26 GNT
"How terrible for you,
teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You clean the outside of
your cup and plate, while the inside is full of what you have gotten by
violence and selfishness. [26] Blind Pharisee! Clean what is inside the cup first,
and then the outside will be clean too!
Memory Verse: “Create in me
a clean heart, O God.” – Psalm 51:10
Have you ever cleaned your
room and found stuff you didn’t even know was there—old papers, broken
chargers, clothes you never wear? Life gets messy, and so do our hearts.
Jesus said that it’s not
enough to look good on the outside if the inside is a mess. God cares about
what’s in your heart, not just what people see. You can post Bible verses
online, serve at church, and smile in public—but if you’re holding on to
bitterness, pride, or secret sin, your heart needs cleaning.
Why Declutter Your Heart?
God sees the inside. People
might think you’re perfect, but God knows your thoughts and motives (1 Samuel
16:7).
Clutter slows you down. Just
like a messy room makes it hard to find things, a cluttered heart makes it hard
to hear God’s voice.
Sin piles up. Yesterday’s
prayer doesn’t guarantee today’s purity. Dirt comes back after cleaning, and so
does sin.
Signs Your Heart Needs
Cleaning:
You feel jealous when others
succeed.
You’re holding grudges or
replaying old hurts.
You pretend everything is
fine but feel empty inside.
How to Declutter Your Heart
1. Check the corners. Ask God to show you hidden
attitudes or habits that don’t please Him.
2. Throw out the trash. Confess sins
honestly—don’t just “dust” the surface.
3. Invite God in. Pray like David: “Create in me
a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10).
4. Keep it clean daily. Read the Word, pray, and
forgive quickly.
When you let God clean your
heart, you become a vessel of His joy and blessing. You reflect His glory and
carry His presence wherever you go.
Reflection Questions
What’s hiding in my heart
that I need to let go of?
Am I more focused on looking
good than being real with God?
What promise from Scripture
encourages me to seek a clean heart?
Prayer: Lord, clean my
heart. Take away pride, fear, and anything that keeps me from You. Help me live
real and pure for You every day. Amen.
Shalom
