CHILD-FRIENDLY SPIRITUAL GATES – DOORS TO GOD’S POWER!
Isaiah 60:11 GNT
Day and night your gates
will be open, So that the kings of the nations May bring you their wealth.
Memory verse: Psalm 24:7 GNT:
Fling wide the gates, open the ancient doors, and the great king will come in.
Gates are like doors. They
let things in and keep things out. In Bible times, gates were very important
because whoever controlled the gate controlled the city.
Did you know we have
spiritual gates too? These are like doors in our hearts and lives. What we let
in—through our eyes, ears, and thoughts—can help us follow God or pull us away
from Him.
The Bible says in Psalm 24:7,
“Lift up your heads, O gates! … that the King of glory may come in.” That means
we should open our hearts to Jesus and let Him in. When God opens gates,
blessings and good things come. But sometimes the enemy tries to close gates to
stop us from moving forward.
Every time we start
something new—like a new school year, a new friendship, or a big dream—it’s
like going through a gate. We need God’s help to open the right gates and close
the wrong ones.
Why Gates Matter:
Gates protect us: They keep
bad things out and let good things in.
Gates are for change: Every
new level in life is like going through a gate.
Gates need guarding: Be
careful what you watch, listen to, and think about.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
-
Have I opened my heart’s gate to Jesus?
-
Are there things I need to keep out of my
life?
-
How can I make sure my gates stay open to
God?
PRAYER: Lord, help me open
my heart to You and close the door to anything that is not good. Let Your
blessings come into my life and keep me safe from harm. Amen.
Shalom
