CHILD-FRIENDLY WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO FOR YOU?
Mark 10:46-51 GNT
They came to Jericho, and as
Jesus was leaving with his disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named
Bartimaeus son of Timaeus was sitting by the road. [47] When he heard that it
was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy
on me!" [48] Many of the people scolded him and told him to be quiet. But
he shouted even more loudly, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" [49]
Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called the blind man.
"Cheer up!" they said. "Get up, he is calling you." [50] So
he threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus. [51] "What do you
want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. "Teacher," the blind
man answered, "I want to see again."
What Does It Mean?
Imagine Jesus asking you
this question! He asked Bartimaeus, the blind man, even though He knew
Bartimaeus was blind. Why? Because Jesus wants us to ask specifically and show
faith.
When we pray, we should tell
God exactly what we need. Jesus said in John 14:13-14:
“Ask anything in My name,
and I will do it.”
Why Ask?
·
God knows what we need, but He wants us to ask
in faith.
·
Asking shows we trust Him.
·
Matthew 7:7 says: “Ask and you will receive.”
Be Specific
Bartimaeus said: “Lord, I
want to see.”
What do you want Jesus to do
for you today? Healing? Help at school? Peace in your family? Tell Him clearly!
Remember
·
Jesus loves to hear your prayers.
·
Nothing is too big or too small for God.
·
Ask with faith and obey His Word.
Memory Verse: Matthew 7:7 "Ask,
and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be
opened to you.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
-
If Jesus asked you this question today, what
would you say?
-
Do you pray for what you need or just hope
silently?
-
How
can you make your prayers more specific this week?
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank
You for asking me what I want. Help me to pray boldly and trust You to answer.
I know You care about every detail of my life. In Your name, Amen.
Shalom!
