God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is."

 

What is Worship?

Worship means showing God how much we love and respect Him. It’s giving Him honour because He is great! 

We worship God by:

·        Singing songs of praise

·        Praying

·        Thanking Him

·        Obeying His Word

True Worship

Jesus said we must worship God in spirit and in truth. That means:

With our hearts, not just our words

With honesty and love

Anywhere, anytime—not just in church

Ways to Worship

*   Bow down before God (Psalm 95:6)

*   Sing with joy (1 Chronicles 16:29)

*   Live a holy life (Psalm 96:9)

God loves when we worship Him with reverence and thankfulness!

Our worship is to acknowledge that the things declared about the Lord are true, and that He deserves admiration for them Psalms 29:2. Even nations, made by the Lord will come to worship and glorify His name according to Psalm 86:9, because indeed all the earth will worship the creator in the beauty and splendour of His majesty.

Why Worship? God deserves our praise (Psalm 29:2).  Worship brings God’s presence close.  Worship creates an atmosphere where miracles happen

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

*   How can you worship God every day?

*   Do you worship with your heart or just your mouth?

*   What can you do to make your worship pleasing to God?

PRAYER: Father, thank You for teaching me to worship You in spirit and truth. Help me to honour You with my words, my songs, and my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
