Demonic. Pride na deceitful and demonic thing! Sometimes I dey ask my children question wey I wish say I fit ask every believer: “Wetin you think say Satan talk wey make one-third of di angels for heaven follow am?” How e take convince dem to rebel against God, di Creator of heaven and earth? 

E no hard—na still di same trick wey he dey use today: whispers. E dey whisper lies, half-truth, pride, and sweet talk to tickle our ear. Bible talk for 2 Timothy 4:3 say we get “itching ears”—we like things wey sweet for ear. Demonic! 

E dey amaze me how many Christians still dey believe in tarot cards, burning sage, crystals, and other things wey dem think say go bring dem closer to God. But truth be say, wetin we really need na to open Bible and study di Word. 

Think am well: Na God create di whole universe. Before He even create human being, di Word don already dey, with di Holy Spirit. Read Genesis 1 again—you go see say before God start di recreating work, story don dey already—na di war wey happen for heaven when Lucifer full with pride rebel against God. 

Genesis 1:2 talk say, “Di eart nor get shape at-all. E dey empty and darkness kover di wota, but God Spirit dey waka on-top di wota. 

Di first sin no start for Garden of Eden, e start for heaven through Lucifer. Ezekiel 28:15 talk am: “Wen God first kreate yu, yu bin dey bihave well, until yu kon start to do bad tins. Ezekiel explain am clear—Lucifer get everything complete. Among di three archangels—Michael (for warfare), Gabriel (to deliver messages), and Lucifer (for worship). God decorate am with musical instruments and pipes. Him very body na worship instrument. Yet, with all those blessings, pride enter him heart. E talk for himself, “I want to be God... I go dey higher than God.” 

And e no keep am to himself—he begin whisper for other angels ear: “I go be just like God, even better.” That one sound familiar? Na di same lie Satan dey still spread today. Pride carry Lucifer rebel; once pride enter person life, rebellion dey follow for back. 

God no dey tolerate pride or rebellion. Bible don talk am clear. Lucifer no wan fall alone, so e convince many angels make dem join am. When God chase am and him followers comot from heaven, as Revelation 12:9 talk, he no fall alone. 

Revelation 12:4–10 show say him tail drag plenty stars from heaven—to mean di angels wey follow am. Na so Satan dey do; he go try drag others with am. All di angels wey listen to am fall, dem turn demons, dey roam darkness, dey try pull human beings join dem. 

And he never stop. Till today, he still dey whisper: “You no need God... you fit do am your way… just burn sage, wave crystal, meditate small.” All na lie! Di only truth wey fit fight back na di Word of God. Na there victory dey. 

No other name dey wey fit save person except Jesus name. And na that name Satan hate pass. Di name “Jesus” no be ordinary name—it carry authority, e carry legal power, e give you right to command. But you gats believe am, hold am, and use am well. 

So, no matter wetin dey happen for your life, remember say pride and rebellion no be just bad habit—dem be demonic from root. No let your heart harden. Psalm 51:10–13 talk am: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Na prayer wey we suppose dey pray everyday—make God keep our heart soft, make we dey open to Him. 

Because pride dey block person from seeing God and hearing Him voice clearly. 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

- Which small whispers or lies you don believe wey fit carry you small-small comot from God truth? 

- You dey rely on God Word every day, or you dey find alternative power and guidance elsewhere? 

- Wetin Ezekiel 28:15 teach you about the danger of ambition without humility? 

- How you fit protect your heart make pride and rebellion no enter? 

PRAYER: Father, remove anything wey dey make me think say I be more than I be. Keep me humble and meek. All glory to Your name. Amen.
