PIDGIN DECLUTTER THE SOUL
Matiu 23:25-26 '“E go bad for una wey dey tish di law and una Farisee pipol, una wey dey pritend! Una dey wosh cup and plate body make dem for klean, but bad belle and long-trot full inside una. Una Farisee pipol wey blind! Make una first wosh inside di cup, den di outside go klean too! '
Time dey reach wey person go
must declutter their house, throw way all the load wey don small-small gather.
The same thing dey happen for our soul. God no dey impressed by wetin show
outside; na the heart e dey look as 1 Samuel 16:7 talk. Many of us fine for
outside—dey talk correct things, dey do correct things—but inside, our heart
full with pride, bitterness and hidden sin. Plenty people be like unbelieving
believers today, clean for outside, dey do everything right, dey talk the right
things and dey behave the right way, but inside dem dirty. Just like the
religious leaders wey dey chase external purity, dem blind to the corrupt
condition of their heart inside.
Jesus rebuke the religious
leaders because dem dey wash only the outside of the cup while inside still
dirty. How many times we self dey do the same thing? We dey smile for public,
dey serve for church, dey look “holy,” but for secret, our heart heavy with
guilt, shame and unresolved issues. Psalm 101:2 talk say, “I go waka for inside
my house with perfect heart.” This one mean say make we live life wey free from
emotional load, procrastination and resistance to change—both for our house and
for our heart.
The same way we dey do
spring cleaning for house, na so we need spiritual spring cleaning. Only the
people wey allow God to clean their heart through faith in Christ fit turn to
people wey dey bring joy and blessing to others as dem dey show God kingdom for
their lifestyle. Just as spring cleaning dey reach hidden corners of our house,
spiritual cleaning must reach the hidden places of our heart. Proverbs 20:9
ask, “Who fit say, ‘I don make my heart clean’?” Yesterday cleansing no be
guarantee for today purity. Dirty dey gather, and sin too dey gather. Na why we
must dey pray every day like David for Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean
heart, O God.”
Some people dey behave like
say their life don perfect when dem dey outside—work, church, school—but for
house and for heart, everything dey scatter. Or their house neat, but their
heart full with negativity. When we allow God to cleanse us through faith for
Christ, we go turn vessels of Him joy and blessing. Our life go reflect Him
glory and we go carry Him presence anywhere we go.
All of us dey struggle with
moral issues but we dey act like say everything dey okay, and instead of we to
examine our heart see the areas wey need cleaning, we dey pretend say
everywhere don clean or just need small dusting, when wetin we really need na
deep spring cleaning. When we dey do spring cleaning for house, na that time we
dey enter corners, under and behind furniture, clear cobwebs and throw way
things. By the time another spring-cleaning go reach, dirt don gather there again—just
like our heart and life. Because you clean today no mean say dirty no go dey
tomorrow; and because we repent today no mean say we no go need to repent
tomorrow again. Na everyday thing!
