Encounter! Na unexpected or
casual life-changing meeting with person or something wey dey turn life
around.
Many of us dey crave dis
kind “Damascus Road” encounter but sometimes we too fear, doubt, or too shy to
allow God enter our heart. Encounter!
You don ever experience one
real encounter wey shake your body, change your thoughts, adjust your attitude,
and transform your life? One spiritual experience wey realign your destiny and
life to match di plan and purpose of God?
We all dey journey go
somewhere—just like Paul for road to Damascus. Him get zeal but wrong motive.
Him dey think say e dey work for God but never realize say di Person wey get di
journey no even dey inside am.
Plenty Christians today
never truly “born again” or “convert,” but like Paul, dem dey hot, loyal, and
serious for their belief. But God no need anybody to fight Him battle. As He
talk to Paul: when we attack fellow Christians because of denomination matter,
we dey persecute Him.
Encounter! Na di collision
between di Holy Spirit and our ego. When we meet God for supernatural ways, our
eyes go open see say we small for di big picture of eternity. Many of us dey
waka with pride say we sabi speak in tongues, quote scripture, and love God,
but if God weigh us—like Daniel 5:27 talk—He go see say we no balance.
Paul dey against di
followers of Jesus—not against bad people, thieves, or murderers—but against
innocent believers wey follow Jesus because dem believe say He be di
Messiah.
Encounter! Paul see bright
light and inside di light he see Jesus Christ for Hin glorified body, as he
talk for 1 Corinthians 9:1. You don see di light? You don meet di Lord? Even
though Paul encounter be di most powerful and transforming one, other people
still get their own encounter too for bible.
For Genesis 18, Abraham get
personal meeting with God—na dramatic encounter wey show us who God be and how
He relate with us.
For Exodus 3, God meet Moses
for di burning bush and call am to face di thing wey e don run from
before.
Judges 6 tell how God
encounter Gideon, di man wey He use free Israel from di Midianites
oppression.
For Genesis 28, Jacob dey go
Harran. Instead of fine bed, na ground e sleep with stone for pillow—but na
there e meet the Lord wey he later call El Bethel (House of God).
Luke 23:32–43 talk about di
thief wey hang with Jesus for cross. He beg Jesus make He remember am for God
kingdom. That small cry for mercy na all God need to welcome am into Him
family. What a wonderful story! Person wey live him life against God still meet
mercy for him last breath, by just one encounter.
Acts 4:12 talk say no other
name dey wey we fit take get salvation except Jesus name.
We all need encounter. Ask
di Lord for daily encounter, new encounter, and fresh encounter for yourself
and your family. Na encounter dey make our faith life exciting and alive. If
you never meet di Lord, ask Am make He come into your life—or He fit meet you
like Paul for your own Damascus road.
