PIDGIN LONELINESS!

Matthew 28:20 “dey tish dem to do evritin wey I tish una. I go always dey with una until di world go end”

Loneliness no be just emotional feeling — e fit even show say something dey miss spiritually; like the need to connect with God and with people. The Bible tell us say the answer to loneliness na relationship — with God through faith in Christ, and with people through love and fellowship.

Loneliness mean that feeling of sadness and depression wey come from being alone — whether na real isolation or feeling say nobody care. E dey pain when person dey feel say dem abandon am or reject am. Sometimes person fit even dey among crowd but still feel lonely inside. Many people dey feel loneliness even inside marriage — a kind separation wey dey bring emotional emptiness.

As technology dey advance, na so loneliness dey increase for the world. E don even turn something like sickness for society today. But Bible remind us say God no create us to dey down or lonely; He want make we get joy and fulfilment even when sadness wan come. True, e no easy when loneliness choke person and e be like say nobody really care.

God create us with that need to connect with others. He design friendship and fellowship make e help us in time of loneliness. Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 talk say companionship get plenty benefit — because if one person fall, the other go lift am.

God no plan make person dey live alone; Genesis 2:18 show us that. Once God see say Adam dey alone, He bring Eve come. That one clear say His plan no include isolation.

If person no handle loneliness early, e fit lead to stronger emotional wahala later. But thank God say through Jesus Christ, we fit find reconciliation and peace of mind. 2 Corinthians 5:18–21 talk say through Christ we don reconcile back to God. Na Jesus be the true friend wey lay down His life for us — and na inside Him wey loneliness fit end.

Through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, we fit conquer loneliness. Many times, God go use people around us — good friends, brothers and sisters for church — to help us come out from that lonely season.

Even better, through Christ, we don join one new family — the family of believers — wey big pass any earthly family.

But even believers dey feel pain of loneliness sometimes. David understand this feeling well. If you read Psalm 25:16–21, you go see how David cry to God make He show face because e dey feel lonely. Yet David still trust God and depend on Him for comfort.

Same with prophet Jeremiah — God even tell am make he no marry. The man suffer rejection and loneliness so til dem call am “the weeping prophet”. For Jeremiah 15, he talk to God about how him pain and loneliness dey weigh am down, yet he still obey God and continue his calling.

Jesus too feel loneliness. For the cross, He cry, “My God, My God, why You forsake Me?” (Mark 15:34). Isaiah 53:3 also talk say Jesus be the man wey suffer rejection, pain, and loneliness. So He sabi how e dey be. That’s why if you dey lonely, look up to Jesus. He understand completely. Still reach out to people wey go help you recover — you no suppose pass through loneliness alone.
