REJECTED TO REDIRECT!

Genesis 50:20 TLB

As far as I am concerned, God turned into good what you meant for evil, for he brought me to this high position I have today so that I could save the lives of many people.

It may often seem like we’re heading to the opposite of where we desire to be and wondering how we got on that path, but our rejection to redirect is a powerful biblical theme that shows us how God uses rejection as part of His plan to guide us toward His purpose. God may allow human rejection to move us into His better direction and purpose.

We can write that Joseph’s rejection by his brothers was God’s redirection to the throne in Egypt and to a ministry of preservation. We see that rejection play out throughout his journey at the same time witness the hand of God behind the scenes in redirecting every rejection to His plan and purpose. Enough that Josephe also realised that the constant rejections he faces, was God redirection his path as seen in his famous declarations in our text.

Rejection as redirection into purpose! Would you recognise the rejection’s you’ve faced, or allow it to define your actions?

As we see from Jospeh, what looked like rejection in the pit and the prison was really redirection to the palace and to destiny. Could that be the same in your case?

Psalm 27:10 says, “Even if my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.”.  sure! This shows that when people reject, God receives and embraces, shifting the focus from man’s ‘no’ to God’s greater ‘yes’.

When such happens, it becomes God’s acceptance over man’s rejection!

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” – emphasize that divine acceptance is the turning point that redirects a rejected life into security and purpose.

Think about Jesus, the rejected cornerstone. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This was Psalm 118:22; echoed in Matthew 21:42 and 1 Peter 2:7. We can say that Jesus, rejected by the religious ‘builders’, was redirected by the Father to become the chief cornerstone of salvation and the Church.

This simply means that: “Man rejected the Stone, but God redirected Him to the highest place, the chief cornerstone and Lord of all.”

Rejection is not the end—it’s a redirection.

Joseph was rejected by his brothers but redirected to Egypt to save nations.

God uses closed doors to open better ones.

Paul’s missionary journey was redirected to Macedonia for greater impact.

Jesus was rejected so we could be accepted.

His rejection on earth fulfilled God’s plan for salvation.

Rejection builds character and dependence on God.

It teaches humility, patience, and trust in God’s timing.

Isaiah 43:1 says, “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”.

Rejection says, “you’re not wanted,” but redemption and calling say “you are Mine,” which is a redirection into belonging and identity in Christ.

This shows that divine choice stands above human rejection and directs the believer into a pre-planned purpose. As Ephesians 1:4 says, “He chose us in him before the foundation of the world.”

People may reject you, but God can use that very rejection to redirect you into His will, just like Joseph, David, and supremely, like Jesus the rejected Stone who became the Cornerstone.”

Rejection is not the end; in God’s hands, it is a holy redirection into your real assignment and identity in Christ.

Psalm 27:10; and Isaiah 43:1 declares that you can be rejected but received by God.

Don’t feel rejected but positioned for purpose.

Psalm 118:22; and 1 Peter 2:7 shows you can be rejected but raised as the Cornerstone.

Don’t despair when it looks like you’re not wanted where you think you should be but rather rejoice that you’re being redirected for purpose and God’s glory.
