STINKY THINKER!

STINKY THINKER!

Romans 12:2 TLB

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how his ways will really satisfy you.

A lot of us are locked into situation we created with our imagination even now because of our mindset. That's a stinky thinker!

We think the way we act, or we act the way we think. And then we speak the way we think. Sadly, most of the things we say are not aligned with the scriptures. But the word of God says in Joshua 1:7-9 to meditate on the word of God, day and night. When we meditate on the word day and night, it begins and continues to renew us.

Philippians 2:5 says, to allow the mind that is in Christ be also in us. If we operate on those three premises, we find that our mindset is no longer on ground zero, but on God above.  Colossians 3:2 instructs us to set our minds on eternal, heavenly and divine things.

We must believe every part of the bible and not some and not disqualify ourselves from some while accepting others. That’s stinky thinking!

God takes us through processes while building up our character, resilience, and all the things we need for the journey. But in it, He grants us wisdom. And then He tells us in James 1:5 says to ask for wisdom if we need more. Wisdom is what we need to access those things that are not physically present in our hands.

The position of a lot of believers, is begging. Begging in prayer or prayer begging. This is stinky thinking!

What we should be doing is making declaration. Job 22:28 says, you shall decree a thing, and it shall be established. Meaning that you're not doing the establishment, but you must do the declaration. And when you have those declarations set out, the heavens will back up your word and establish them. When we talk of seed, it’s your main source of whatever you need in your harvest or from your harvest. But if you don't have seed in the ground, you cannot have a harvest. What are you speaking? What are you thinking? What you project matters a lot.

When you're sick, you need healing. Read and speak the word of healing that God has already spoken in his word. Declare it over yourself. It says by the stripe on Jesus' back in Isaiah 53:5, we were healed, already healed. Think on and appropriate what the scripture says.

When we need something, we ask the Lord for it. Isaiah 30:31 says, you’ll hear a voice directing your path. When we ask God for direction, wisdom, or instruction, we must be quick to obey what He tells us to do. Sometimes our rationality may kick in. Oh, but how is it going to work? What if I say it and nobody listens? Who cares? Do it regardless and be thankful.

Jesus at every point thanked the Lord for provision. Not because he couldn't get it himself, but he was teaching us something. When we look at the two loaves of bread and five fishes, it’s impossible to feed thousands of people with these. Not in any way would that be enough to even feed five people let alone thousands. But Jesus did and had leftovers. Why? Because he thanked the Lord, who then multiplied, God is a multiplier. Stinky thinking would be if we see the problem and leave it at that.

That's why 2 Corinthians 9:10 says He gives seed to the Sower and bread to the eater. Thank Him for seed and wait for the harvest. And then thank Him again when the harvest comes in to multiply it. He never gives us back what we give to Him. He always gives us more than we give to him. Stinky thinker will make you want to hold on to what you have for fear of losing it, you will according to Proverbs 11:24.

Overflow is God's principle! Psalm 23:5, says, you’re anointed and your cup runs over. You've been anointed to prosper, be healthy, and to conquer. Stinky thinking is not part of your makeup. We don’t need to beg God for anything; God doesn't use the tools of the enemy and would not use what Jesus Christ paid for to punish you. Time for us to stop stinky thinking. Redeem your mind, renew your mindset, meditate on the word and declare the word. Stop stinky thinking of God not hearing you.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

-        In what areas of your life have you allowed “stinky thinking” to influence your decisions or words?

-        When God gives you an instruction, do you obey immediately, or do you let rationality and fear hold you back? Why?

-        Do you spend more time begging God in prayer or declaring His promises over your life (Job 22:28)? What needs to change?

-        What practical steps will you take this week to renew your mind and stop stinky thinking (Colossians 3:2, Philippians 2:5)?

PRAYER: Thank You. Lord for Your Word that renews my mind and transforms my life. I reject every stinky thinking that limits me and does not align with Your truth. Teach me to declare Your promises boldly and to trust Your wisdom in every situation, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
