TEST BIRTHS TESTIMONY!
Psalm 71:15-16 TLB
I cannot count the
times when you have faithfully rescued me from danger. I will tell everyone how
good you are, and of your constant, daily care. [16] I walk in the strength of
the Lord God. I tell everyone that you alone are just and good.
Our text reminds us
that trials are not punishments but opportunities for growth and revelation.
Without tests, there can be no testimonies. Scripture consistently shows that
challenges refine our faith and reveal God’s character.
Revelation 14:12
calls believers to endure hardship patiently, obey His commands, and maintain
unwavering faith in Christ. Every testimony ultimately glorifies God, not us.
Throughout the Bible,
testimonies highlight God’s attributes—His power, justice, goodness,
providence, wisdom, love, and grace. When we testify, we declare the aspect of
God we experienced in our situation. Trials teach us dependence on His grace
and shape Christlike character. Contrary to popular belief, tests are not
divine punishment; they are God’s way of revealing Himself to us. He already
knows who we are—testing helps us discover His power and presence so we can
share what we’ve learned.
What are you facing
today? Trials, challenges, disappointments? These moments are the soil where
testimonies grow. Psalm 119:46 encourages us to declare God’s works boldly,
even before kings. Testimonies are not mere stories; they are memorials of
God’s faithfulness.
In the Old Testament,
Noah, Abraham, Joseph, and Moses all kept God’s testimony. Moses’ encounter
with God transformed him into a living testimony of deliverance. His life
proclaims that God still parts Red Seas and rescues His people. Similarly,
Hannah’s story in 1 Samuel assures us that persistent prayer is never
wasted—God answers in His time. Job, during suffering, declared, “I know my
Redeemer lives” in Job 19:25. These examples remind us that even in pain, we
can testify to God’s goodness.
Your testimony is
born from your test. The pain, disappointment, and labour of trials produce
something powerful—an experience that glorifies God and strengthens others. Psalm
119:2 says, “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all
their heart.” Keeping God’s testimony means living in obedience and declaring
His works. It means gathering “memorial stones” of gratitude, as Israel did, so
future generations can see and ask, “What do these stones mean?” Then we can
proclaim, “They remind us of God’s faithfulness.”
No matter how severe
the test, the testimony will always be greater. Trials may feel unbearable, but
they lead to ultimate vindication and glory for God. When it seems He has
forgotten you, remember John 4:4—Jesus intentionally sought the Samaritan
woman. In your wilderness, He will come looking for you. Even when others try
to trap you, as in John 9, God will turn it into a testimony for His glory.
Test and testimonies!
Your test birth testimony! What test have you gone through this year that has
bettered the testimony for you? What test, trials, challenges, and difficulties
have you gone through? What have you faced? What pain, disappointment have you
faced that will bear your testimony? We meet Hannah in 1 Samuel. Her testimony
was that God answers prayer. Have you got such a testimony? That no matter how
long you pray for, God will answer when it's time for him to answer.
So, how do we keep
our testimony? By declaring what God has done and walking in His strength. Verse
16 says, “I will go in the strength of the Lord God.” That strength enables us
to endure trials and emerge victorious. Verse 15 adds, “My mouth will declare
Your righteousness.” After the labour pains of testing, the birth of testimony
comes—a story everyone hears, though few saw the struggle.
Your testimonies are
your memorial stones. You gather them and heap them for thanksgiving. You keep
heaping! That when the enemy is doing whatever he's doing, you keep heaping
your memorial stones. So that those who come will see and ask, why have you got
these stones gathered? Then you can testify.
Your testimony is not
just for you; it is a witness to God’s power and grace. Keep singing of His
goodness, even when the enemy tries to make your test unbearable. Remember:
every trial is temporary, but every testimony is eternal. Gather your memorial
stones, declare His works, and let your life proclaim, “There is no mountain
too high, no situation too great for my God.”
