CHILD-FRIENDLY THE ANCIENT PATH: A CALL BACK TO GOD’S WAY!
Jeremiah 6:16 GNT
The LORD said to his people,
"Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths and where the
best road is. Walk in it, and you will live in peace." But they said,
"No, we will not!"
Life can sometimes feel
confusing, like standing at a crossroads. But God tells us to look for the
“ancient path”—the good way that leads us closer to Him.
We should stop, look, ask
for the right path, and then walk in it. The ancient path is simply God’s way.
It is the way of love, kindness, obedience, and trusting Him.
Jesus is the ancient path.
He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” When we follow Jesus—by being
loving, honest, and obedient—we are walking the right path.
Just like the prodigal son
who left home and made wrong choices, we sometimes wander too. But when he
returned to his father, he found love and forgiveness. God does the same for us
when we come back to Him.
Walking God’s way today
means choosing what is right, even when it is not easy. It means praying,
reading your Bible, coming to church, and listening for God’s voice. His Word
is like a light showing us which way to go.
The ancient path is not far
away. It is right where you are, waiting for you to choose God’s way every day.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
•
When you have a big decision to make, what
helps you choose God’s way?
•
Is there an area where you feel tempted to
take the easy way instead of God’s way?
•
What is one simple thing you can do today to
walk on God’s path—pray, read your Bible, or show kindness?
PRAYER: Lord, help me choose
Your way every day. Show me the ancient path and teach me to walk in love,
kindness, and obedience. When I get confused, guide me back to You. In Jesus’
name, Amen.
Shalom
