CHILD FRIENDLY GOD THE DELIVERER!
2 Samuel 22
God is our Deliverer! That
means He rescues us and keeps us safe. David sang a song to thank God for
saving him from danger. Just like David, we can call on God when we are scared,
sad, or in trouble. God always hears us.
David had many enemies, but
God protected him every time. God also helps us in ways we don’t even see. He
fights for us, guides us, and keeps us strong.
We are all in very real
struggle in daily life and a daily battle waged against Satan and his demons
and his world. The conflict is very real, and to make matters even more
difficult, it’s against an enemy that we cannot see according to Ephesians
6:10-12, in which we need divine help for every area of life.
In 2 Samuel 22, David uses
many names to describe who God is to him. These names remind us that God is
powerful and always with us.
According to 2 Samuel 22,
GOD IS:
- Our Rock
- Our Fortress
- Our Deliverer
- Our Shield
- The Horn of Salvation
- Our High Tower
- Our Refuge
- Our Saviour
- Our Stay
- Our Rewarder
- Our Lamp
- Our Strength and
Power
- Our Guide
- Our Avenger
- The Tower of Salvation
Do you know of anyone else
who can deliver besides God? Your parents
or a friend? There is only one God who can deliver.
There is no one who can save
us like God. He knows us, loves us, and watches over us every day.
