CHILD-FRIENDLY LEGITIMATE TRANSACTION!
Proverbs 11:1 AMPC
A false balance and
unrighteous dealings are extremely offensive and shamefully sinful to the Lord,
but a just weight is His delight.
God cares about how we buy,
sell, and keep promises. The Bible says cheating is sin. In the past, people
trusted a handshake. Today, even with signatures, people still cheat.
In Bible times, merchants
used scales. Some cheated by using wrong weights. Today, cheating looks like
wrong prices or false ads. God hates dishonesty.
Romans 13:7 says, “Pay
everyone what you owe.” If you borrow or promise, keep your word. James 5:4
says pay workers on time.
Ephesians 4:28 says, “Don’t
steal. Work hard.” Cheating may look good, but it brings trouble. Colossians
3:23 says, “Do everything for the Lord.” Before making a deal, ask: “Would
Jesus be happy with this?”
Treat people the way you
want to be treated (Matthew 7:12). Honest deals honour God. Cheating dishonours
Him.
James 5:4 says if you hire
someone for a job, pay them promptly. Delayed wages cry out to God.
Legitimate transactions must
involve working for honest or at least fair gains.
God demands honesty in all
dealings! He is a shrewd businessman as seen in Leviticus 19:35-36, because the
Lord would never tell us to do something He knows nothing about, and He knows
all things.
Legitimate transactions are
not just about business—they are about worship. When we deal honestly, we
honour God. When we cheat, we dishonour Him. Let us commit to integrity in all
our dealings.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
-
Am I honest in buying, selling, and
promises?
-
Do I pay what I owe?
-
How can I make God happy in my dealings?
PRAYER: Lord, help me be
honest in everything I do. Keep me from cheating. Teach me to pay what I owe
and treat people fairly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
