CHILD-FRIENDLY UNWRAPPED GIFT!
Proverbs 18:16 GNT
Do you want to meet an
important person? Take a gift and it will be easy.
Christmas is a time when
many people give and receive gifts. Some gifts are exciting, some are useful,
and some… well, they don’t mean much at all. But God gave us the greatest gift
ever—Jesus. His gift was thoughtful, loving, and full of purpose.
Sometimes people give gifts
just because they feel they have to. They pick something quickly or give
something they don’t even want. But as children of God, we should give with
love, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
The Bible says in Proverbs
11:25 that when we bless others, God blesses us too.
And Luke 6:38 says that when
we give, God gives back to us even more.
God wants us to think about
the people who have helped us—teachers, friends, family, pastors, and anyone
who has encouraged or supported us. These are people who deserve our “thank
you.”
We shouldn’t wait for
Christmas to show appreciation. We can give a smile, a kind word, a small gift,
or even a simple “thank you” any time of the year. Even a tiny act of kindness
matters to God. Jesus said in Matthew 10:42 that giving someone even a cup of
water is important to Him.
Everything we have comes
from God, and He can always give us more. So let’s give with love, not just
because we feel we must. Let’s appreciate the people God has used to bless us.
Be encouraged to reach out
and say “thank you” to someone today.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Do I give with love, or
just because I feel I have to?
- Who has helped me this
year that I can appreciate?
- What small act of kindness
can I give today?
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for
the gift of Jesus and for teaching me to give with love and purpose. Help me to
show gratitude to those who have blessed my life and to give cheerfully, as You
have given to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
