CHILD-FRIENDLY WITHOUT LOVE!
1 Corinthians 13:2 GNT
I may have the gift of
inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may
have all the faith needed to move mountains-but if I have no love, I am
nothing.
Sometimes we do things
because we have to — that’s obligation.
Sometimes we do things
because we want to — that’s love
The Bible says in 2
Corinthians 9:6 that whatever we plant is what we will get back. If we plant
kindness, we receive kindness.
When we act only because we
feel forced, our hearts aren’t really in it. But when we act out of love, we go
further, we help more, and we make others smile. Jesus talked about this in Matthew
5:41 — going the extra mile.
Colossians 3:23 reminds us
to do everything for God.
So whether we feel obligated
or loving, we should do it to honour Him.
Even small acts matter.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:41–42 that even giving someone a cup of water brings a
blessing.
God gives us love, mercy,
and kindness even when we don’t deserve it. So we should share what we have
with others too — even if it’s small
Everything we have comes
from God, and He can always give us more.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Do I act from love or just
because I have to?
- Who can I go the extra
mile for this week?
- What kind thing can I
plant today?
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for
loving me. Help me do things from love, not just obligation. Teach me to go the
extra mile and be kind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom
