PIDGIN THE ANCIENT PATH: A CALL BACK TO GOD’S WAY!
Jeremaya 6:16 “ God tell en pipol, “Make una stop and look round. Mi, wey bi God, don tok. Ask for di old way wey bi God own and make una follow am.” But dem ansa, “Dat nor bi di way wey wi like to follow!”
Life dey always carry us
reach crossroads — times wey we dey confused or we suppose make serious
decision. Na for those moments God dey invite us make we ask for the ancient
path — the old road wey dey sure and true.
The ancient path no be
old-fashioned thing; e dey rooted for God unchangeable character and His word.
Na road of mercy like Micah 6:8 talk, of justice, humility like Philippians
2:3–4 show, and obedience like John 14:15 talk. For Jeremiah time, people turn
from this road; dem begin follow idols and shortcuts. It still be the same today,
plenty people don turn face from God or don turn spiritual things, even God
Himself, into idol worship.
Jesus na the full picture of
that ancient path. For John 14:6, He talk say, “I be the way, the truth, and
the life.” To waka for this path mean say we go follow the example of Jesus —
love people, sacrifice, and stay faithful no matter the condition. Ask
yourself: which road you dey follow? You don waka comot from the ancient path
wey be Christ Jesus? Or you don find road wey only fit you and please
society?
Make we remember the story
of the prodigal son for Luke 15:11–32. Even though the boy waka far, he still
see restoration when come back to him papa house — that na the ancient path of
repentance and grace. God still dey call us today to come back and find rest
inside Him.
To choose the ancient path,
you must decide well. E mean say you go resist distractions and quick fixes of
this world and follow the wisdom of God, like Proverbs 3:5–6 talk. No be man
wisdom wey hide inside theology, spiritism, or religion, but God own wisdom wey
pure.
To follow this path mean say
we go trust God timing and promise even when e hard or unclear — because when
God hand dey inside, the road no dey easy but e dey meaningful.
How we fit walk this ancient
path today? Start by making your decisions stand on Scripture and prayer.
Anytime you face wahala, ask yourself: “For this situation, what mercy,
humility, and obedience go look like?”
Our daily spiritual habit na
the bridge wey connect us back to God heart — Bible study, prayer, worship, and
fellowship. Na this kind discipline dey help us hear God clear, build our
strength, and grow deeper for faith.
The ancient path no dey
behind you; e dey under your foot right now — e dey wait make you walk steady
with God. This path no dey old; e still dey alive and active today, like
Hebrews 4:12 talk. From beginning, God don always place His way before Him people,
and He still dey call us make we walk inside Him will. For Deuteronomy
30:19–20, God talk say He don put life and death before Israel, and He beg dem
make dem choose life — meaning His path always dey open for us to choose every
day.
Psalm 119:105 confirm am
say, “Your word be lamp to my feet and light to my path.” The ancient path dey
glow right where you stand. No be one faraway road wey you must travel back go
find; na present invitation to walk daily with God. Jesus emphasize this same
thing for Matthew 11:28–30 when He invite us make we walk with Him and find
rest for our soul — not through our energy but by learning His way.
Even when the road never
clear, Isaiah 30:21 remind us say, God go still whisper direction: “This na the
way, walk inside am.” The ancient path na God righteous way wey e still dey
available to us now — calling us to trust, obey, and stay close to Him.
For everyday life, this path
fit look like to forgive instead of hold malice, to serve others with humility,
or to wait patiently instead of rushing. Remember say the ancient path dey lead
to rest — no because life no get trials, but because God dey walk with us
inside the journey.
