PIDGIN DIVINE SUPPLY!
2 Kings 4:1-7
One day, one woman wey en
husband bi profet before e die kon kry go meet Elisha sey, “Yor savant my
husband don die. Yu know sey yor savant dey follow God kommand. Naw, doz wey e
dey owe money before e die, won kom take my two sons as slave.”
2Elisha ask di woman, “Wetin
yu wont make I do for yu?” Make yu tell mi, “Wetin yu get for yor house?”
Di woman ansa, “Yor savant
nor get anytin escept one small oil.”
3Den Elisha tell am, “Make
yu go borrow plenty empty gallon kom. 4Afta yu don borrow dem, make yu enter
house kon lock yor door, den pour di oil put for all di gallons and wons one
full, put am for korna.”
5So di woman leave am kon
lock en and en sons wey bring di gallon, for inside dia house. Den e bigin pour
di oil put for inside di gallons. 6Wen dem don full, e kon tell en sons, “Make
una bring anoda gallon kom.”
But di boys ansa, “All of
dem don full.” So di oil kon stop to pour kom out.
7Den di woman go tell Elisha
wetin happen and Elisha sey, “Go sell di oil, use di money take pay yor debt,
den make yu and yor sons sell di rest kon use di money take buy food make una
chop.”
2 Chronicles 29:12 talk say
wealth and riches dey come from the Lord. The world dey behave like say na dem
create everything wey humanity dey enjoy. In their pride, dem dey think say dem
fit control things by themselves, stop things from finishing or ration am to
make am last.
But the One wey create
everything never and no go ever remove Him hand from creation. That mean say na
Him alone fit continue to supply everything we need from Him big storehouse wey
no go ever finish.
God fit supply, and He fit
multiply anything we need easy.
This miracle of
multiplication show how God fit use wetin person already get do wonders. For
this story, na small jar of oil the woman get — that na her asset. Wetin be
your own asset? Bible no tell us the size of the jar, but that small thing na
all wey she get, yet her creditor don plan to carry her two pikin as bond boys
to pay the debt.
This miracle resemble the
one for 1 Kings 17:14–16, where the jar of flour no finish. That one too base
on asset. God ask Moses for Exodus 4:2, “Wetim dey your hand?” Moses complain
say he no fit do the work, but God use that same staff wey be him identity,
influence, and source of living as instrument of power.
So, wetin be your own asset?
Wetin God don put for your hand? A jar of oil! Oil na valuable thing for any
society — e dey useful for light, cooking, anointing, healing, and even beauty
(Psalm 104:15).
A jar of oil! E no mean much
to the widow, but when she put am for God hand, the same thing change her
story.
From debtor to oil businesswoman
— for just one day!
The creditor (like devil)
always dey wait to carry people enter bondage — no be just for short time, but
for eternity. Make you wise up; look your asset and cry to God to deliver you
before enemy lay hold of you.
This woman no start to
complain say the thing no fair or shout about her husband’s debt. She explain
her case to Prophet Elisha, and the man of God quickly give her solution — not
just to solve small problem, but to change her life completely.
Notice say the prophet tell
her to, “Go outside, borrow vessels from your neighbours, empty ones, and
borrow plenty.” Meaning say her answer no dey only for her hand; her neighbours
too get role to play. People around you dey connected to your lifting; no block
the flow of blessing because you wan show independence.
Those wey genuinely help
others go get their own reward. God no dey fix only the area wey you cry to Am
about; He dey complete the work — even things wey you no know say you need help
for (Ephesians 3:20).
The widow pay her debt finish
by her faith in God, but the miracle need her own part — her obedience and
small step of faith. When we obey God for secret, He dey reward us for open,
just like this woman.
So, wetin be your asset? You
fit feel say wetin you get too small or e no get value, but maybe something
like that jar of oil dey your hand, or one hidden thing wey fit be the key to
your breakthrough. Ask God to show you wetin be your asset.
