Na free God give una dis pawa, so make una gi-am free to oda pipol too. 9Make una nor karry any money follow body, 10or karry bag or estra dress, sandal or walkin stik, bikos di pipol wey una go meet, go give una evritin wey una wont.

11“Wen una enter any town or village, make una look for pesin wey ready to receive una for en house, make una stay with am until una komot from dat town. 12Any house wey una enter, make una greet di pipol wey dey inside. 13And if di pipol inside di house welkom una, make una peace stay with dem, but if dem nor welkom una, una peace go kom back to una. 14If di pipol nor welkom or listin to una message, make una shake dia san komot from una leg as una dey leave dat house or town. 15I tell una true word, e go betta for Sodom and Gomorrah pipol for judgement day, pass di pipol wey dey for dat town.”

 

“Jesus power, super power, other power, powerless power.” Many of us don sing that song when we small. Even though the song simple, inside e carry strong truth, same as wetin Bible talk. Matthew 10:1 talk say, “Jesus call Him twelve disciples come and give them power and authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind sickness and disease.” That power no be human, no be school give am, no be magic. Na pure, holy, divine power from Jesus Christ Himself. 

So wetin we fit still talk about Jesus’ power? He give am to Him disciples, and today through His Word and Spirit, He still dey give us that same power. Every believer—whether you be church member, pastor, leader, or just child of God wey dey walk in faith—don get access to this same power. He give am for one purpose: to do Kingdom work well, with confidence and victory. 

But many Christians today still dey find “more power,” waka go places wey God no send dem, dey listen to voices wey no come from God, and dey do things wey no match with Scripture. But if Jesus don already give you power, which other power you dey find again? Any power outside Jesus no get addition to give. 

This world get many supernatural powers, and some dey come from dark sources. Dem fit look real, sound spiritual, even blow people mind, but if e no come from God, na demonic. That na why Simon the Sorcerer for Acts 8:9–24 deceive plenty people. The people see say he dey do wonders, think say e be from God, but Bible clear say na sorcery he dey use. People fall for counterfeit power. 

Every other power na powerless power compared to Jesus Christ. 

Different religion and belief dey show different supernatural sign, but if the power no be from God, e no fit save, e no fit heal soul, e no fit deliver forever, and e no fit stand against Jesus authority. True power belong only to Jesus. 

Christian faith no be by plenty talk; na by power. 1 Corinthians 4:20 talk say, “The Kingdom of God no be in word, but in power.” This power show for holy life, spiritual authority, and changed character wey only Christ fit bring. Nothing wey God create fit strong pass Creator. No spirit, ritual, charm, force, or human plan fit match Jesus power. 

Jesus dey give Him power with purpose. He give am to those wey go use am well and represent am with truth. But where true power start? E start from 2 Corinthians 3:5 wey talk say our sufficiency no dey from ourselves. Our strength, boldness, and ability dey come from God alone. 

No superpower fit turn anybody to superhuman. No shortcut dey outside Jesus. Real, lasting, holy power get only one source—Christ alone. No matter how high person wan reach for life or ministry, dependence on God no get substitute. Only Him fit raise, lift, and sustain by His power like 1 Corinthians 6:14 talk. 

Jesus Himself talk for Matthew 28:18 say, “All power for heaven and earth don give Me.” That one mean say any power wey exist anywhere, na either He give am or e stand against am. True power dey flow from God throne. Fake ones plenty, but none fit beat Christ. 

God don equip Him people with spiritual armour—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and prayer—make we fit stand strong against Satan plan. God no just equip us; He dey train, strengthen, and prepare us for Him work by His power. He don give everything we need to overcome, resist, and move forward. 

Power dey flow from relationship. Power dey come when we remain connected to Jesus. The believer wey disconnect go weak, empty, and vulnerable. If your spiritual fire dey go down, if your life dey feel powerless, check the source wey you dey draw from. Nobody fit operate in God power if e no stay close to Jesus. 

True spiritual authority come from intimacy, obedience, submission, and fellowship with Christ. As we remain in Him, His power go flow through us freely, boldly, and effectively. 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

-        I dey use the power wey Jesus don already give me, or I dey find strength for wrong places? 

-        I sabi the difference between God power and fake spiritual display? 

-        I dey stay connected to Jesus so His power fit flow through me every day? 

PRAYER: Father, help me make I remain grounded for You and walk inside the power wey You don already give me. Make my heart no go find strength anywhere else. Teach me to operate with Your authority and stay connected to the true source of all power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
