PIDGIN LEGITIMATE TRANSACTION!

Proverbs 11:1 “God hate pipol wey dey play wayo, but E dey love doz wey dey do good tins.“

 

The word “legitimate transaction” no dey Bible exactly like dat, but e concern every part of our daily life. Whether na buying, selling, signing contract, or even paying bills, God really care how we take handle our business matter. The Bible clear say to do bad business or cheat person no be just bad behaviour, na sin before God. 

For this world wey corruption, fraud, and wicked exploitation don full everywhere, Christian people suppose stand different, people wey dey show integrity. Our transactions suppose reflect the character of Christ and the value of God Kingdom. 

For olden days, just handshake fit seal contract wey go last for years, even reach next generation. But today, even with stamp, signature and evidence, people still dey lie and do wayo. 

God dey demand honesty for everything wey we do. God na shrewed businessman as we see for Leviticus 19:35–36, because God no fit tell us to do something wey e no understand. And since He know everything, e remain best example. 

God hate lie and cheating. False balance, to cheat for weight, measure or price, na abomination to Him. For Bible time, traders dey use scale to measure goods. Some go adjust the scale small small to cheat customers. Today, people dey cheat through fake adverts, inflated invoice, and hidden charges. 

How about you or somebody wey you sabi? You dey manipulate figure just to gain extra? We suppose no dey play with price or fact just to get unfair advantage. Make we dey truthful for our pricing and contracts. 

Imagine say you buy product wey dem label “100% pure,” but when you open am e don mix with water. Na false balance be dat, and God no like am at all. Sadly, this kind thing don full our society today, including church, people dey use lie or half truth to package what suppose be legitimate transaction. 

If you enter supermarket shelf today, you go sabi say many things no straight, na trick and manipulation dem dey use chop people money, while the consumer no dey get value. 

Romans 13:7 talk say pay everybody wetin belong to them. This one include tax, bill, salary, and agreed payment. Once you sign contract or borrow money, you get moral and spiritual duty to fulfill am. The same way customer deserve to get wetin dem pay for. 

But now self, even church don join this style. Some people dey use God’s work do business wey go benefit only them. Dem dey charge people for things wey Christ don already pay for. Bible call them hireling, people wey just dey work because of money, not because dem care truly for the people or the work. 

Many gifts and talents dey inside church, but instead of using the people wey God put there and pay them fairly, some go go outside pay stranger big money or pay church member little or nothing. Yet 1 Timothy 5:18 talk clear say worker deserve fair payment. 

James 5:4 remind us say if you hire person, pay am quick. When you delay worker wages, those cry dey reach God ear. 

Legitimate transaction mean say all your gain suppose come from honest or at least fair work. 

Ephesians 4:28 talk say make thief no dey steal again, but make him work with im hand. God dey bless honest work. Fraud, shortcut, or illegal deal fit look profitable, but na curse e go bring, not blessing. Labour with clean heart, no dey use trick. 

Every transaction suppose carry Kingdom value as Colossians 3:23 talk say whatever you do, do am with your whole heart as if na God you dey work for. So before you sign any deal, ask yourself, Jesus go approve this one? 

Pray before you enter contract. 

Make your integrity be your testimony. 

Most important, make we dey treat people fair as Matthew 7:12 put am, do to others as you want make them do you. If you no like make people cheat you, then no cheat anybody. That golden rule cover business too. 

Make we always dey transparent for our dealing and no use anybody condition take exploit them. 

Legitimate transaction no be just business matter, na part of worship to God. When we dey honest, we dey honour God. But when we cheat, we dey shame Him. Make we commit ourselves to integrity for all our dealings. 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

- How my daily transactions, for business, ministry or personal life, reflect the honesty and integrity wey God dey expect from me? 

- I don ever justify lie or manipulation for contract, price, or agreement before? How I fit adjust my ways now to make sure all I do dey glorify God? 

- I dey treat people fairly for money matter, like paying wages on time or keeping my promise? Wetin I fit change so that my dealings go show Kingdom values? 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You say You be God of truth and justice. I put all my business and dealings for Your hand. Help me to waka inside integrity and honesty, to reflect Your kind character for everything I do. Protect my heart from greed, lie, and shortcut. Teach me to honour my agreements, pay wetin I dey owe, and treat people fairly as Your word talk. In Jesus name, Amen.
