1 Thessalonians 5:17 talk say make we dey pray without stopping, and Luke 18:1 talk say man suppose dey always pray. Prayer na both work and labour, na battle and serious wahala because hand wey we lift up go don tire before battle even finish. We must depend on God for everything because without am we no fit do anything. If we dey always remember say we depend on am, we go dey always pray for spirit, and anybody wey get this spirit go dey always look for chance to pray.

When we dey pray without stopping, na like seed we dey sow for future as preventive measure to stop wetin enemy fit plan against us. We dey take medicine or dey do some kind prevention so that sickness, affliction or even death no go reach us. Na so e be with God word too, we get use am ahead of time so that enemy no go fit win us. When we pray, we dey join hand with the Lord to change, divert, stop or reduce the power of any challenge. But when we no pray, many things fit happen wey for don change or no even happen at all. Sometimes, like Hannah for 1 Samuel 1, we fit pray for many years before answer go come but imagine say she no pray at all.

Manasseh first ignore God, he no wan pray, but when trouble catch am for verse 12, he no get option again, he get to pray. How many times we dey pray only to cure problem instead of to prevent am? Why we dey wait make affliction land finish before we remember to find God for prayer? Prayer no be only to make God do something for us, e also mean say we dey receive strength for journey, wisdom to act, direction of where to go and grace to overcome. But we fit only collect all these things through preventive prayer, no be only curative prayer. Imagine say the angels wey stand for God presence close the window of prayer for heaven because dem see say na only when problem come you dey pray.

For time of serious need, almost everybody go begin shout for God. Moses stand for front of Red Sea for Exodus 14:15-18, dey look the people of Israel wey dey panic as dem see Pharaoh chariots dey rush them, but wetin God answer be, “Why una dey cry to me?” Who Moses suppose cry go meet again? E never pray into this matter before, e no know wetin exactly God dey plan do, but still, he act for faith. Nehemiah say “So I pray to the God of heaven!” He make preventive prayers for the hard journey and work wey dey ahead of am even before he start to plan anything.

We dey face daily wahala without the special strength wey preventive prayer dey supply and without that quiet confidence wey e dey give. Like Chicken Little, we go wait until e be like say sky dey fall before we start to pray. Why we no go pray before sky fall? Abraham servant for Genesis 24:10-20 make preventive prayer before he start the important waka to go find wife for Isaac. The time wey we dey spend for preventive prayer inside our secret place, as Matthew 6:6 talk, na that prayer dey prepare us for battle before e come. Na this kind prayer dey give us hope of victory and hold us strong so that storm of affliction no go drown us.

Manasseh for avoid capture and serious suffering if to say he been dey pray before. But when person come meet the Lord with true repentance, God dey always ready to hear and answer am.

Make you dey pray always to prevent, no be only to cure.
