PIDGIN RUNNING AWAY!

Psalm 139:7–10 “I nor go fit hide from yor Spirit! I nor fit run komot from yor present at-all! 8 If I run go heaven, Yu dey der; if I die go grave, Yu dey der too.

9 If I sey make I fly as day dey break kon go di oda side for di sea, 10 yor hand go guide mi for der and yor rite hand go support mi.

All of us get that natural urge to run from things we no like or responsibility we no wan face.

You ever feel say you wan just run? Run from responsibility, run from pain, run from people, run from one calling wey you no ask for, or even run from God Himself?

The truth be say, most of us don stand for that same crossroad before, dey whisper, “If I fit just escape, maybe I no go need deal with all this.”

But make we remember: running no dey solve anything wey God design make you face.

You fit run, but you no fit outrun God. You fit hide, but you no fit hide from Him.

You fit avoid Him, but He go still meet you where you hide—because Him love no dey give up, or cancel Him call.

You no be the first person wey don try run. Bible full of people wey run from God, from destiny, from trouble, from truth, and even from themselves. But none of dem reach far.

Adam and Eve—na dem be the first runners. Dem hide inside bush, thinking say God no go find dem. But God still find dem and call dem (Genesis 3:8–10)—no to destroy dem, but to restore dem.

Hagar for Genesis 16:7–15 run from pain. She dey run from Sarah, but even inside wilderness, God wey dey see find her. He no punish her; He just reposition her back into destiny.

Jonah too run. Not because he weak, but because he disagree with God plan. He think say to escape go make sense. But before he even start, God don already prepare storm, ship, and big fish—no to kill am, but to redirect am.

David try run from himsef—through shame, fear, and guilt. But later he confess for Psalm 139 say, “Na where I go run from Your Spirit?”

Paul sef dey run without even knowing. He think say he dey serve God wen he dey run against God. Until the Light for Damascus road stop am.

Every runner get reason. Every runner get story. But God still dey pursue every runner.

Some people dey run for different reasons:

1. Fear of responsibility — “God, I never ready,” or “Choose another person.”

2. Past trauma — “I no fit go back there; e still pain me.”

3. Disappointment — “When God no answer me, I just give up.”

4. Tiredness and weariness — “Ministry too heavy, life too hard.”

5. Feeling unqualified — “I no get wetin e take.”

But hear this truth: running no disqualify you, e only delay you.

E fit sweet small at first, but e go later bring: Delay for destiny. Isolation from help. Distraction from purpose. Exposure to spiritual attack. Tiredness wey come from carrying wetin God suppose carry for you.

God go always bring you back to wetin you run from—because Him goal na to heal, align, restore, and make you strong again.

God na the inescapable God—not to judge you, but to show mercy.

He dey with you when you dey try succeed without am.

He still dey with you when you fall or fail.

He dey with you when you hide out of shame.

He dey with you when you dey pretend say you dey fine but inside your heart, you dey bleed.

You no fit outrun God wey dey everywhere. But more than that, you no fit outrun the Papa wey truly love you.

If you must run—run go meet Am.

If you must hide—hide inside Am.

If you must fall—fall for Him feet.

Because only one safe place dey—na His presence (Psalm 91:1–3).

Stop to dey run from destiny, calling, assignment, process, healing, or deliverance. Stop to dey run from God wey love you deeply.

He no dey vex—He dey wait.

He no dey chase to punish—He dey chase to restore.

He no dey pursue to judge—He dey pursue to embrace you.

The Lord say: come back to Me. The place wey you dey avoid, na there I wan bless you. The thing wey you dey fear, I don already conquer am for you. Stop to run from life. No matter wetin you dey run from, remember—God still dey wait for you.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • ·       Which area of my life I dey always try run from, and which fear dey push me to escape?
  • ·       How God don pursue, protect, or redirect me when I dey try to avoid Him will or presence?
  • ·       Which step of obedience, healing, or surrender God dey ask me to take now—and how my life go look if I stop to run and start to trust Am?

PRAYER: Papa God, I come back to You with my full heart. Anywhere I don run, hide, or resist Your call, I drop am for Your feet. Meet me here. Strengthen me and lead me inside the path You don prepare for me. I choose to surrender instead of fear, obedience instead of running, and Your presence instead of every burden. Guide and help me waka boldly for my destiny in Jesus’ name, Amen.
