PIDGIN SPECIAL TREATMENT!

2 Kings 5:8-11

“Wen Elisha, God profet hear sey di king tear en klot, e kon send pipol go meet and tell di king, “Wetin make yu tear yor klot? Send am kom meet mi and e go know sey Israel really get betta profet wey God send kom.” 9So Naaman with all en men go meet and stand for Elisha door-mot. 10Elisha sey make en savant go tell Naaman, “Make yu go wosh yorsef seven times for Jordan River, den yu go well.”

11But Naaman vex waka komot dey sey, “I bin tink sey e go kom outside kom meet mi, den koll en God name and wave en hand for di diziz, so dat I go well.   

 

All of us like “special treatment.” Whether na VIP pass, front-row seat, or special package wey dem prepare just for us, e dey make us feel important and valued. Na so Naaman, one big military commander, expect that kind treatment when e go meet Elisha for healing. For im mind, e picture say Elisha go wave hand, shout prayer, do some kind dramatic miracle. But instead, e get simple instruction: “Go baff for River Jordan seven times.”

Naaman vex well-well. Because the way God choose no match wetin e dey expect. E want something wey loud and spectacular, but God give am something simple. How many times we don miss our own blessing because we dey look for the extraordinary, come ignore ordinary obedience wey God dey show us?

We go ask God for something for prayer, but we wan decide how and when e go answer am; and if e no look like how we plan am for our mind, we go begin doubt whether na God really answer. 

From God, “special treatment” no be about human status or outward show—na about Him grace and glory. God no dey pamper pride; na humility and faith e dey honour, as James 4:6 talk. The simple instruction wey Elisha give Naaman no be mistake at all; e use am take remove pride from Naaman body so that the glory no go go prophet hand but to God.

Many times, God work dey look ordinary because e want make we trust Him, no be the method, as Isaiah 55:8-9 show. For God side, obedience better pass big show, and na humility dey open door for miracle. Wetin look “too simple” to us na often the same thing wey dey show say God dey in charge.

Bible get many examples where e be like say God give person “special treatment,” but na in grace and purpose really dey work. 

One example na Esther wey find favour for the king hand for Esther 2:17. Esther na orphan and foreigner, but she still receive favour and become queen. Her “special treatment” no be only because she fine—na God put her for position to save Him people. Many times, God favour dey resemble special treatment, but e dey carry one bigger divine purpose pass just our personal enjoyment.

Joseph own for Genesis 41:14 na from Prison to Palace because of special treatment. Joseph move from prisoner go second-in-command for Egypt. E be like say na sudden big promotion, but na God plan don mature. Wetin dey look like overnight success na years of hidden obedience and faithfulness wey God just decide to show for public one day.

Daniel nko? Daniel receive special recognition and promotion because of the spirit of excellence wey dey inside am for Daniel 6:3. Daniel stand out because of integrity and wisdom, and God give am favour with kings. That “special treatment” root na faithfulness, even when pressure and opposition full ground. God dey always honour people wey stand gidigba for righteousness.

God own “special treatment” no be about noise and ceremony—na about grace and transformation. 

When you dey pray for financial breakthrough, you dey expect sharp-sharp miracle money, but God dey push you to start budgeting, managing well, and sowing faithfully. 

When you ask for peace for your house, you dey hope say everything go just suddenly calm down, but God tell you to first go apologize and begin talk gently. 

When you ask for healing, you dey wait for one dramatic deliverance session, but God dey nudge you to forgive person or change lifestyle habit. 

All these instructions fit look too ordinary, but when you obey, extraordinary power dey come out inside. 

Special treatment from God no be about status or show—na about His grace wey dey work to bring glory to Him name. He dey honour humility, faith, and obedience. Wetin look ordinary to us dey carry extraordinary power once God put hand inside.

- Which simple instruction God don give you wey you dey ignore because e no look “special” enough? 

- How your expectations dey sometimes fight with the way God dey do Him own things? 

- For which area of your life you suppose choose humility instead of pride so you fit receive God blessing? 

- How you fit remind yourself every day say obedience na the real “special treatment” for God kingdom? 

PRAYER: Lord, help me make I drop my pride and accept Your process. Teach me to trust Your wisdom pass my own expectation. Make I no ever miss my miracle because I dey find drama and show, as I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
