BIND AND LOOSE!

Matthew 18:18 AMPC

Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven.

We have been empowered, instructed and deputised to bind and loose. To loosen God’s blessings upon our efforts and bind the evil works that come against the fruits of our labours

There are moments in our journeys when we can tell what we’re doing is bigger than us, that our work carries eternal significance, touches lives, and advances God’s kingdom. Yet Scripture is very honest about this: whenever God plants, the enemy tries to uproot; whenever God builds, the enemy looks for ways to tear down; whenever God blesses, the enemy moves to frustrate and interfere.

This is why the language of losing and binding isn’t just poetic or symbolic — it’s about spiritual authority. Jesus said, “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

To loosen God’s blessings upon our efforts is to invite His favour, breath, increase, and supernatural multiplication.

To bind the evil works that come against the fruits of our labour is to stand in our Godgiven authority and refuse to let the enemy sabotage what God has ordained.

God desires to bless the work of our hands from the beginning. God blessed human labour in Genesis 1:28, He called humanity to be fruitful — not just in a biological sense, but in purpose, creativity, stewardship, and impact. Psalm 90:17 echoes this same heart: “Establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands.”

It’s these works that the enemy wants to bind and frustrate us.

God isn’t indifferent to our efforts. He sees our diligence, sacrifice, obedience, and faithfulness, and delights in blessing what you commit to Him according to Proverbs 16:3.

When you loose God’s blessings upon your efforts, you’re choosing to align your work with His will and invite His supernatural touch to do what human strength simply can’t.

The enemy seeks to oppose fruitfulness in every way according to John 10:10. That includes stealing joy, killing momentum, and destroying fruit.

You see this pattern repeatedly in Scripture:

Nehemiah faced opposition while rebuilding the wall — mockery, intimidation, and outright sabotage in Nehemiah 4.

Daniel faced traps and plots designed to silence his influence in Daniel 6.

Paul encountered spiritual resistance that hindered his ministry in 1 Thessalonians 2:18.

Fruitfulness tends to attract warfare. It doesn’t mean God’s blessing is gone; it usually means what you’re carrying has real weight in the kingdom.

Binding the evil works that come against your labour isn’t fear-based; it’s faith-based. It’s choosing to stand firm in the authority Christ has given you.

When God blesses your efforts, He also covers and protects them. As Isaiah 54:17 declares, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” God protects what He blesses. Weapons may be formed — but they won’t succeed.

Attacks may arise — but they won’t prevail.

Opposition may come — but it won’t overturn what God has decreed.

God protected Joseph’s dream through betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment.

God protected Moses’ calling in the face of Pharaoh’s power and threats.

God protected the early church even as they walked through persecution and scattering.

So, when you bind the works of darkness, you’re agreeing with God’s protection over your assignment and stepping into what He’s already promised.

Your words carry authority and Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

When you speak blessing over your efforts, you’re inviting heaven’s partnership.

When you speak against the enemy’s schemes, you’re enforcing Christ’s victory.

This isn’t just positive thinking — it’s spiritual alignment.

Jesus spoke to storms.

Paul spoke to spirits.

The early church spoke boldness and courage into their mission.

Your words matter. Your declarations matter. The authority God has given you matters more than you may feel in the moment.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       Where do I need to intentionally invite God’s blessing over the work of my hands?

·       What signs of spiritual resistance have I noticed, and how might God be calling me to stand in authority?

·       How can I better align my words, prayers, and expectations with God’s desire to establish the fruits of my labour?

PRAYER: Father, I loose Your blessings upon every effort, assignment, and labour You have entrusted to me. Let Your favour rest on the work of my hands. I bind every evil work, distraction, and opposition that seeks to hinder the fruit You have ordained. Strengthen and establish me in what You have begun, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
