CHILD-FRIENDLY AMEN!

2 Corinthians 1:18-22 GNT

As surely as God speaks the truth, my promise to you was not a "Yes" and a "No." [19] For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was preached among you by Silas, Timothy, and myself, is not one who is "Yes" and "No." On the contrary, he is God's "Yes"; [20] for it is he who is the "Yes" to all of God's promises. This is why through Jesus Christ our "Amen" is said to the glory of God. [21] It is God himself who makes us, together with you, sure of our life in union with Christ; it is God himself who has set us apart, [22] who has placed his mark of ownership upon us, and who has given us the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the guarantee of all that he has in store for us.

“Amen” is a word we say all the time, but many children don’t really know what it means. Some think “Amen” means, “The prayer is finished.” Others think it is just something we say because everyone else says it. But “Amen” is much more powerful than that. “Amen” is a seal.

In the Bible, “Amen” means true, sure, let it be, and I agree. When we say “Amen,” we are telling God, “I believe this prayer. Let it happen in my life.”

“Amen” is not a quiet ending. It is a strong agreement. It is like signing your name on God’s promise.

Psalm 106:48 says, “Let all the people say, Amen.” Why? Because when God’s people said “Amen,” they were agreeing with what God said. Their “Amen” meant, “Yes Lord, we accept this.”

In 2 Corinthians 1:20, the Bible says all God’s promises are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ. Jesus is God’s big “YES”—the One who makes every promise true.

Revelation 3:14 even calls Jesus “the Amen.” When we say “Amen,” we are joining our voice with Jesus’ voice.

When many believers say “Amen” together, heaven hears it. Jesus said in Matthew 18:19 that when two people agree, God will do it. Agreement must be spoken, not silent.

So when you say “Amen,” say it with faith. Say it with understanding. Say it like someone who knows God is listening.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       What does “Amen” mean to me now?

·       Where do I need to start saying “Amen” with boldness?

·       How can I agree with God’s word every day?

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for teaching me the power of “Amen.” Help me say it with faith and understanding. Let my “Amen” agree with Your word and activate Your promises in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Shalom
