CHILD-FRIENDLY COPYCAT!
3 John 1:11 GNT
My dear friend, do not
imitate what is bad, but imitate what is good. Whoever does good belongs to
God; whoever does what is bad has not seen God.
The Bible tells us not to
copy what is bad, but what is good.
To copy someone means to
follow their example. Sometimes we copy people because we like them or want to
be like them. But not everything people do is good to copy.
We live in a world where
many people copy wrong things. But God wants us to copy good, godly, and right
actions.
Paul said, “Follow me as I
follow Christ.”
That means we should copy
people who behave like Jesus — in kindness, honesty, love, and obedience.
Even children copy their
parents and older siblings. In the Bible, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob sometimes
repeated the same mistakes because they copied each other. This shows that
people around us learn from what we do — good or bad.
God wants us to copy good
examples, not people who do evil, gossip, lie, or behave in ways that don’t
please Him. When we do good, we show that we belong to God and are led by His
Spirit.
We should copy godly
mentors, people who love Jesus, and people who help us grow. We must avoid
copying the world’s bad habits. Even when we are around people who don’t follow
God, we must be careful not to copy their wrong ways.
If you must be a copycat, be
a copycat of Christ.
The more we read the Bible,
pray, and listen to the Holy Spirit, the more we become like Jesus. When your
life looks like Christ, anyone who copies you will be copying Him too.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
· Who
am I copying right now, and does their life look like Jesus?
· Are
there habits I have that might lead others the wrong way? How can I show a
better example?
· Where
do I need to be more careful, so I copy Christ, not the world?
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please
help me to copy Christ and follow people who lead me closer to Him. In Jesus’
name, Amen.
Shalom
