CHILD-FRIENDLY POWER FOR WORKS!
Acts 1:8-9 GNT
But when the Holy Spirit
comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me
in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
[9] After saying this, he was taken up to heaven as they watched him, and a
cloud hid him from their sight.
Jesus told His friends (the
disciples) that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came. This power
helps us do the things God wants us to do.
Power means: the ability to
do something. Not just strong muscles, but strength in our hearts, minds, and
spirit.
God gives us this special
power so we can: Do hard things, be brave, tell others about Jesus and keep
going when we feel tired or afraid.
Jesus said, “You will
receive power.” Not just ideas, not just good feelings — real power from the
Holy Spirit.
This power helps us:
Stand when we are scared
Speak when we are shy
Believe when we doubt
Keep going when we feel like
stopping
When Jesus went up to
heaven, He did not leave us alone, He left us with a promise of power.
Acts 12:5-7 talks of power
in hard places.
It tells us Peter was in
jail, was tied up and could not escape. But the church prayed for him and then
suddenly an angel came, the chains fell off, the door opened, and Peter walked
out free.
Peter could not save
himself… but God’s power helped him.
God’s power still works
today!
When we pray, God moves.
What God’s power does is give
us strength, helps us be bold, breaks chains, opens doors and helps us finish
our assignment. You don’t have to do life alone.
God gives you power for
every good work.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS

How can I pray more and ask God for help
every day?
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, please
give me Your power. Help me when I feel weak. Make me brave, strong, and full
of faith. Break anything that stops me from doing what You want. Use me for
Your glory. Amen.
Shalom
