PIDGIN AMEN!
2 Corinthians 1:18–22 “But as God dey faithful, wetin wi dey prish give una nor bi make e for bi just “Yes” or “No.” 19Bikos God Pikin, Jesus Christ, di One wey mi, Silas and Timoti dey prish give una, nor bi “Yes” and “No.” But from biginnin, na Jesus bi God “Yes.” 20And evritin wey God promise us, na “Yes” thru Jesus Christ. Dat na why awa “Amen” thru Jesus Christ dey give God glory. 21Na God make wi and una dey sure sey wi dey inside Christ. Na God choose us from odas 22and E don mark us as en own kon put en Spirit for awa heart, so dat wi go dey sure of all di oda tins wey E sey E go give us.
"Amen" na one word
wey everybody sabi, but many of us never still understand the real weight,
authority, and spiritual power wey e carry. For some people, e just be like the
last word to end prayer—like stamp or code wey mean “I don finish.” For others,
na signal wey show say preacher don talk finish. But “Amen” pass that one—e no
be mere full stop; e be seal.
For Bible, “Amen” get
different strong meaning. As verb, e mean to confirm, to establish, to verify,
to trust, to give confidence. As noun, e mean truth, firmness, stability,
reliability. As adjective, e describe something wey solid, faithful, trustworthy,
wey no dey shake. For English we dey talk am for end of prayer or
declaration—to mean, “Make e stand. Make e hold. Make e sure.”
When we understand the
meaning and power wey dey inside this word, we no go dey use am anyhow again.
“Amen” no be whisper; e be witness. E no be polite ending; e be legal
endorsement. E no be religious habit; e be heavenly agreement.
Psalm 106:48 talk say, “Make
all the people say, Amen.” Why? Because when dem talk “Amen,” dem dey agree
with wetin don talk; dem dey own am as their own. Dem no be spectators—dem be
participants. Their “Amen” na their signature.
We see this well for
Deuteronomy 27:15–26, where “Amen” appear twelve times. After every curse wey
dem speak against disobedience, the people answer with “Amen.” Dem no just dey
repeat; dem dey enter covenant. Their “Amen” mean, “We accept, we agree, we acknowledge
say na true.”
The word still show as noun
for 2 Corinthians 1:20: “Because all God promises inside Christ be Yes, and
inside Him be Amen.” In Christ, every promise get stability and strength. Jesus
Himself na the full meaning of God’s “Amen”—na Him make every promise sure.
That’s why Revelation 3:14
call Jesus “the Amen, the faithful and true witness.” Na Him be God word
guarantee. So anytime we talk “Amen,” we dey echo the faithfulness of Christ.
We dey align our voice with His reliability.
“Amen” still get power for
group matter. When people agree together, e no be just noise—e be harmony, one
voice, one sound. This kind agreement get spiritual authority. Jesus talk am
for Matthew 18:19: “If two people agree for earth about anything wey dem ask,
my Father for heaven go do am.”
Agreement no be silent.
Agreement no be passive. Agreement no be only for mind. Agreement dey spoken.
When two or more believers
talk the same thing for faith, heaven respond. So when we all talk “Amen”
together, we dey create spiritual agreement wey heaven recognize. Our “Amen”
become signature on top God promise. E be like say we dey stamp am: “I agree
with God. I align with His word. I accept this truth. Make e stand for my
life.”
Na why the enemy like
silence—because silence cancel agreement. Silence weaken authority. Silence
leave word hanging without seal. But when God people open mouth talk “Amen,”
something dey shift. Something dey settle. Something dey seal.
“Amen” no be the end of
prayer—na the activation. Na the moment heaven collect wetin earth don agree
with. Na the point where faith become partnership.
So next time you talk
“Amen,” talk am with understanding. Talk am with intention. Talk am with faith.
Talk am as seal. Talk am as witness. Talk am as person wey know say heaven dey
hear and dey respond.
