Some lessons na mouth dem take teach am, but the strongest ones na life example. Bible don show us many times say real transformation no dey happen only through teaching but through imitation, to copy good example. How we live dey shape people more than wetin we talk. Na this be the real meaning of “Not Taught! Caught.” Many of the most important truths for life no be because person teach us, but because we see am as somebody live life. 

Jesus show this thing clear as the perfect teacher. Him example come before Him words. He no just teach about prayer — He pray (Matthew 14:23). He no just talk about compassion — He move with compassion everywhere. He no only talk about forgiveness — He forgive, even from the cross. 

No wonder the disciples no say, “Teach us how to preach.” Dem say, “Lord, teach us to pray” for Luke 11:1. Dem watch as He dey wake early, withdraw go quiet places, and depend on the Father. Dem catch Him lifestyle before dem even receive the teaching. 

Paul life dey worth to copy because he sabi this principle well. When he talk say, “Make una imitate me as I dey imitate Christ,” he no dey boast; he just dey talk the truth about spiritual influence. Him letters full doctrine, but his life na the true lesson. He teach generosity, and still work with Him hand. He preach endurance, and still endure beatings, prison, and storm. He teach love, and still cry with the churches. Many of the early believers no just hear doctrine — dem catch life by watching him. 

Plenty lessons for home too na caught, no be taught. Proverbs 22:6 remind us say to train no be only instruction — na formation. Pikin dey absorb everything wey surround dem. Dem fit forget the talk about kindness, but dem no go forget how papa or mama take handle neighbour wey offend dem. Dem fit forget the words “be grateful,” but dem go remember how gratitude dey practiced for dining table, for prayer, and for giving. Dem fit no remember teaching about faith, but dem go catch faith when dem see papa or mama pray through storm instead of panic. Children dey copy wetin dem see before dem understand wetin dem hear. 

The Church suppose be living example to the world. James 1:22 talk say make we be doers of the word, no be hearers only. Church wey dey preach forgiveness but no dey forgive, shallow. Church wey dey preach generosity but no dey give, na theory. Church wey dey talk holiness but no dey live am, don lose witness. People dey catch the culture of a church before dem understand doctrine. Our life example na the loudest sermon. 

How about you? You dey learn or you dey catch? You learn something but never catch the depth of am. 

Everyday life dey full of lessons we fit catch: 

- Mercy dey caught when person get restored instead of rejected. 

- Integrity dey caught when somebody refuse dishonest shortcut. 

- Humility dey caught when leader serve quietly without show. 

- Faith dey caught when person still trust God inside uncertainty. 

The most powerful lessons no be from lecture —na lived one. No just learn! No just dey taught! Catch the depth! 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

-        Wetin people dey catch from the way I dey live, talk, and react every day? 

-        Where God dey call me to show Christ more clear for my home, church, or work place? 

-        Who don shape my life through their example, and how I fit become that kind example to another person? 

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the gift of example — first from Christ, and then from the people wey You put around us. Help me live life wey go reflect Your heart, so that others fit catch Your love, mercy, and truth through me. Make my life turn to living testimony of Your grace. Amen.
