PIDGIN POWER FOR WORKS!

Acts 1:8–9 “ but una go get pawa wen di Holy Spirit don enter una life and una go tell pipol about mi for Jerusalem, for evriwhere for Judea and Samaria go rish all di far place wey dey dis world.” 9So afta e don tok with dem, God kon karry am up until kloud kover am and dem nor fit si am again.

We need power—physical power, mental power, and most important, spiritual power—for every kind of assignment and activity. Any work wey God give person to do need power. No be human strength, no be fine talent or personality—na divine empowerment. Jesus talk am clear before He go heaven for verse 8.

Power na the ability to do things—whether by strength, skill, resource, or because person give you authority to act.

The power of Almighty God get no limit, and every other power dey come from Am. 1 Chronicles 29:11–12 talk well about this: all dominion, strength, and victory belong to God.

This power no be optional; na necessity. The disciples follow Jesus, see miracles, hear Him words, and learn from Am—yet He tell dem to wait. Why? Because kingdom work no fit happen with human energy. E need heaven power.

We need power do wetin we no fit do by ourselves, just as Jesus talk.

Jesus no say, “You go receive ideas,” or “You go receive motivation.” No! He talk plainly say, “You go receive power.”

The Greek word na Dunamis—meaning explosive, dynamic, supernatural ability. Na this power dey give you confidence to: Stand where fear dey rule before. Talk where silence hold you before. Move where hesitation being stop you. Believe where doubt dey whisper. Continue where weakness don drain you.

When Jesus go heaven for verse 9, He no leave dem powerless—and He no leave us (the church) powerless too. He leave with one promise, wey turn ordinary men and women to world changers.

You don receive power? You dey operate for that power? You wan become world changer? Then you need Jesus power to be that person.

The same Spirit wey empower dem that time, na Him still dey empower you today. The same power wey born the early church still dey fire your assignment. The same anointing wey rest on dem still rest on you.

Na this power dey work even when you tight down—as we see for Acts 12:5–7.  Acts 12 show us clear picture of power working for impossible place.

Peter dey chain for prison, guard surround am, soldiers full him side, execution don near. But verse 5 say, “The church pray earnestly to God for am.” And verse 7 talk the result—“Suddenly, angel of the Lord appear… and the chain fall from Peter hand.”

This na power for works—power wey open locked place, break chain, scatter enemy plan, cross human limitation, and open door wey nobody fit close.

Peter no get the power to free himself. He sleep, but heaven dey awake.

Na this power God dey release when Him people pray and when Him Spirit move—power wey dey work even when you no fit.

Na power wey turn prayer to movement.

As we see for Acts 12, church pray → heaven respond → Peter waka comot.

Na so kingdom power dey work: Prayer → Power → Movement → Testimony.

God power no be abstract story. E dey produce visible results—strength for your calling, boldness to witness, breakthrough for your battles, deliverance from bondage, and speed for your assignment.

The same God wey empower the disciples for Acts 1 and deliver Peter for Acts 12 still dey empower Him people today.

God no dey call you to work with your own strength. God no expect you to complete your assignment alone. You no suppose dey fight spiritual battle with natural tools.

You get power for works—Power to do. Power to stand. Power to overcome. Power to witness. Power to break through and power to finish.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·        For which area of my life I need stop to depend on my own strength and start to rely on Holy Spirit power?

·        Which “chains” or limitation for my life need God supernatural power to break?

·        How I fit build lifestyle of prayer wey go invite God power into my daily work?

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, thank You for the power wey You don give for every work wey You call me to do. Strengthen me where I weak, empower me where I dey limited, and break every chain wey dey block my assignment. Make Your power rest on me, flow through me, and bring fruit wey go glorify Jesus. Amen.
