PIDGIN SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE!

Ephesians 1:11–14

All tins dey happen as God wont am and thru Christ, E choose us to bi en own pipol, bikos na so E plan am from di time wen E kreate di world, 12so dat wi wey first bilive Christ, go dey gi-am praiz and glory. 13Since una don hear di trut kon bilive Christ, God don give una di Holy Spirit as special mark to show sey naim get una. 14God deposit dis Holy Spirit for di tins wey wi go inherit, until di time wen E go save en pipol, so dat all praiz and glory go bi en own.

 

This scripture make am clear say our inheritance dey inside Christ Himself. E talk about purpose, calling, and belonging. Inheritance mean legal transfer of property after person don die. To “inherit” simply mean to take possession. 

Psalm 16:5–6 say God Himself be our portion. This verse show say inheritance no be thing, na God Himself. E come make am personal and deep. 

For New Testament, the word inheritance mean blessings wey don move from earthly to spiritual level. Like Colossians 1:13 talk, we don comot from darkness enter light, from physical enter spiritual, and sinner become saint. Na the blood of Jesus give us this new identity wey we need to access our spiritual inheritance. 

As believers, our inheritance begin the day Jesus die for cross — na the birthright of every person wey the Holy Spirit don give new life. That birthright start the moment person become born again (2 Corinthians 5:17). 

Galatians 3:29 connect us to covenant and promise — “If una belong to Christ, then una be Abraham pikin, heirs according to promise.” This one tie us to the ancient promise of God — our spiritual family line. 

The ultimate inheritance na the blessing of eternal life, like Matthew 25:34 talk. Every man wey dey in Christ get special position through salvation to inherit eternal life with all spiritual blessings — both for earth and heaven (Ephesians 1:3). 

Inside this inheritance wey we get in Christ, we don already become chosen, redeemed, sanctified, accepted, loved, forgiven, filled with grace and with the Holy Spirit — and many more blessings still. 

Natural man dey always try leave inheritance for im children (Proverbs 13:22), how much more God wey love us pass any earthly father — He don prepare both physical and spiritual inheritance for us, Him children. 

For God kingdom, our level different. 

Ephesians 2:6 tell us say part of our inheritance be say we die and rise again with Christ. Our inner man resemble Christ spiritually, and our physical life suppose reflect Christ behavior — for talk, attitude, and lifestyle. That one elevate us pass unbelievers, above every principality and power. 

We be heirs together with Christ (Romans 8:17). This verse show our authority, identity, and shared inheritance with Jesus. 

To waka inside this inheritance as people wey dey sit together with Christ, we need obey the command for Genesis 1:28, to “dominate.” No matter where you dey for life, that place no permanent. E no go harm you; na to shape you into full maturity in Christ. Your current situation na work in progress inside God hand, to bring you into your inheritance. 

Unlike the prodigal son for Luke 15:11–35, we no suppose rush collect our inheritance when we never mature. The boy ask for him own share when the papa never die, but he no ready to handle am. James 1:2–4 warn us say maturity na the real key to activating inheritance. 

Even when the boy waste everything, the papa still wait eagerly for am to come back. That na just how God dey look us when we wander comot from faith. God know say you no fit manage your inheritance on your own, and even if you waste am, you no fit finish wetin God store for you. 

The Lord always dey ready for us to return to our rightful path — the path of righteousness, dominion, and daily victory. Na part of our spiritual inheritance, and na advantage wey only believers get. 

REFLECTION QUESTIONS 

·       How I dey waka actively inside the spiritual inheritance wey I receive through Christ death and resurrection? 

·       Which area of my life still need maturity, so I fit manage and protect the inheritance God give me well? 

·       How I dey live consciously from my position of advantage — seated with Christ above principalities and powers? 

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for my spiritual inheritance for Christ Jesus. I pray make You give me grace to be faithful and wise steward of this inheritance, so I fit protect am and hand am over to the next generation, in Jesus name, amen.
