CHILD-FRIENDLY GIVE WITHOUT AUDIENCE!

Matthew 6:3-4 GNT

But when you help a needy person, do it in such a way that even your closest friend will not know about it. [4] Then it will be a private matter. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you.

 

Jesus teaches us that giving is a wonderful way to show love. But He also teaches that how we give matters. He says when we help others, we should not try to get attention or praise. Instead, we should give quietly, knowing that God sees everything we do.

Today, many people like to show their giving. They take pictures, record videos, or tell everyone how much they gave. But Jesus warns us not to give just to be noticed (Matthew 6:2). God looks at our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). He wants us to give because we love Him and care about people—not because we want to be admired.

Giving in secret helps keep our hearts pure. It reminds us that everything we have comes from God (James 1:17). When we give quietly, we show that we want God’s approval, not people’s applause. Secret giving also helps us stay humble and stops us from becoming proud.

Bible Examples

The Widow (Mark 12:41–44): She gave two small coins. It looked like little, but Jesus saw her heart.

Dorcas/Tabitha (Acts 9:36–39): She helped widows by making clothes. She wasn’t trying to be famous—she simply cared. Jesus: Many times He helped people and told them not to tell anyone. He wanted to please God, not get attention.

Secret Giving Today

Secret giving can be paying for someone’s food without telling them, leaving a gift at someone’s door, or helping someone quietly. These acts may be small, but God sees them all.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       Do I give for God or for attention?

·       Where can I give quietly?

·       How can I give like Jesus?

PRAYER: Father, help me give with a pure heart. Let my giving honour You, even when no one sees. Amen.
