CHILD-FRIENDLY INTERNAL, EXTERNAL, AND ETERNAL HAPPINESS!
Psalm 1:1-6 GNT
Happy are those who reject
the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join
those who have no use for God. [2] Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of
the LORD, and they study it day and night. [3] They are like trees that grow
beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry
up. They succeed in everything they do. [4] But evil people are not like this
at all; they are like straw that the wind blows away. [5] Sinners will be
condemned by God and kept apart from God's own people. [6] The righteous are
guided and protected by the LORD, but the evil are on the way to their doom.
This Scripture shows us what
real happiness looks like. Verse 2 says the blessed person loves God’s Word and
thinks about it day and night. Happiness grows in three ways: inside, outside,
and forever.
Internal happiness is joy
that lives in your heart because you stay close to God. It doesn’t depend on
what is happening around you.
Mary in Luke 10:38‑42 shows this. She sat with
Jesus and listened to Him. Martha was busy and stressed, but Mary chose what
brings true joy—being
with Jesus.
When we enjoy God’s Word, it
helps us think better, feel stronger, and stay steady inside.
External happiness is what
others can see in your life. Psalm 1:3 says the blessed person is like a tree
planted by water—strong, healthy, and fruitful.
Joseph in Genesis 39‑41 is an example. Even in
hard places, God was with him, and his life blessed others.
When our hearts follow God,
our actions show it. We speak kindly, help others, and do good things that make
God smile.
Eternal happiness lasts
forever. Psalm 1:6 says God watches over the righteous.
The thief on the cross in
Luke 23:39‑43
found eternal joy when he turned to Jesus. Jesus promised him paradise.
Eternal happiness reminds us
that our joy continues with God forever.
As we stay close to God’s
Word, we grow strong like trees—fruitful, joyful, and secure in Him.
