CHILD-FRIENDLY MIRROR! MIRROR OF THE WORD!

2 Corinthians 3:18 GNT

All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces; and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into his likeness in an ever-greater degree of glory.

 

Mirrors! We all have them. We use them to check our hair, our clothes, and how we look. But a mirror can only show the outside. It cannot show what is happening inside our hearts.

In the story of Snow White, the queen asked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” She wanted the mirror to tell her who was the most beautiful. But earthly mirrors cannot show who we truly are on the inside.

God’s Word is a special mirror. The Bible shows us the truth about ourselves—what needs changing, what is good, and how God wants us to live. When we read the Bible, the Holy Spirit helps us become more like Jesus.

A dirty or broken mirror cannot show a clear picture. In the same way, the world cannot show us the real truth about right and wrong. Only God’s Word can.

Sometimes we look at ourselves and think we are the standard. But instead of saying, “Mirror, mirror on the wall,” we should say, “Mirror of God’s Word, show me who God wants me to be.”

James 1:23–24 teaches that if we hear God’s Word but do not do it, we are like someone who looks in a mirror and then forgets what they saw. But when we study the Bible and obey it, God changes our hearts and our lives.

God’s mirror—the Bible—doesn’t just show us the truth, it helps us become better on the inside and outside. Let God’s Word show you who you really are in Christ.

·       What areas of my life is God asking me to change so I can be more like Jesus?

·       Have I been letting things like my feelings, friends, or social media tell me who I am instead of God’s Word?

·       How can I obey God’s Word every day so I grow stronger in my faith?

PRAYER: Lord, help me look into the mirror of Your Word every day. Change my heart and make me more like Jesus. Amen.
