CHILD-FRIENDLY QUALIFIED BY GRACE, NOT BY STRENGTH!
1 Corinthians 1:25-31 GNT
For what seems to be God's
foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God's weakness is
stronger than human strength. [26] Now remember what you were, my friends, when
God called you. From the human point of view few of you were wise or powerful
or of high social standing. [27] God purposely chose what the world considers
nonsense in order to shame the wise, and he chose what the world considers weak
in order to shame the powerful. [28] He chose what the world looks down on and
despises and thinks is nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is
important. [29] This means that no one can boast in God's presence. [30] But
God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be
our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God's holy people and
are set free. [31] So then, as the scripture says, "Whoever wants to boast
must boast of what the Lord has done."
God doesn’t only use strong
or smart people. He uses anyone who is willing. His wisdom is greater than
ours, and His strength works best when we feel weak.
Sometimes we say things
like: “I’m too small… too young… not smart enough… not strong enough.” But God
says, “I can use you just the way you are.”
People and things God used even
though they seemed weak:
1. A left‑handed man — Ehud (Judges 3:15)
2. An ox
stick — Shamgar used it to win a battle (Judges 3:31)
3. A woman
— Deborah, a brave judge (Judges 4:4–9)
4. A tent
peg — Jael used it to defeat an enemy (Judges 4:21)
5. A donkey
— God made it talk (Numbers 22:28–31)
6. A fish
— Brought a coin for tax (Matthew 17:27)
7. A stone
— David used it to beat Goliath (1 Samuel 17:49)
8. A donkey’s
jawbone — Samson used it in battle (Judges 15:16)
9. A song
and noise — Gideon won a fight through worship (Judges 7:19–22)
All these show that God
doesn’t need something big or powerful—He just needs someone willing.
Our ability doesn’t come
from us. It comes from God.
“I can do all things through
Christ.” — Philippians 4:13
“Not by might but by My
Spirit.” — Zechariah 4:6
“Our ability comes from
God.” — 2 Corinthians 3:5
God doesn’t choose based on
age, looks, or strength.
“I chose you.” He said in John 15:16. Will you let God use you?
If God can use these things,
imagine what He can do with you! “God chooses the weak so He gets the glory.” 1
Corinthians 1:27–29.
God wants you to be: Willing,
Humble, Available, Obedient, but start with what you have. God will do the
rest.
