CHILD-FRIENDLY WORDS PRODUCE IMAGES!

Hebrews 11:3 GNT

It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God's word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.

 

From the very beginning of the Bible, God shows us something amazing: words have power. Words create pictures in our hearts and minds. Even though the Bible doesn’t say “words produce images,” it clearly teaches that what we say can give life or cause harm (Proverbs 18:21).

In Genesis 1, God created the world by speaking. He didn’t use His hands. He simply said, “Let there be light,” and light appeared. Every time God spoke, something new came into being. His words created pictures that became real.

Because we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26–27), our words also create pictures inside us and inside others. 

When someone hears kind words like “You are loved,” they start to see themselves as special. 

When someone hears hurtful words, they may begin to feel sad or small.

Jesus explained this using the story of the sower in Matthew 13. God’s Word is like a seed. When it is planted in our hearts, it grows into faith, hope, and strength.

Faith begins with a picture. Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing God’s Word. When we hear what God says, we start to see His promises in our hearts.

God gave Abraham a picture when He told him to look at the stars (Genesis 15:5). Every night Abraham saw the stars and remembered God’s promise.

This is why the Bible tells us to think about God’s Word (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2). God’s words paint good pictures inside us.

Our words matter too. 

When we speak encouragement, we paint hope. 

When we speak fear, we paint doubt.

So, let’s use our words to build and bless others.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the power of words. Help me speak with love and truth. Fill my heart with Your pictures and help me encourage others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
