PIDGIN BULLSEYE!

Fillippians 3:14 “and as I put my mind for dis tins, I dey try to get di prize wey bi life for heaven; prize wey make God koll us thru en pikin, Jesus Christ.

 

Bullseye mean the centre of target — the middle point wey person dey aim when e dey throw arrow or shoot anything. The word also mean say person don achieve the exact goal or get something perfectly right. If person tell you say, “You hit the bullseye,” e mean say you get am correct, you no miss your purpose at all. 

For Christian life, the bullseye na the will of God. Everything wey no dey inside Him purpose fit look fine, almost right or admirable, but only obedience, surrender and alignment with God Word dey touch the real centre of why we dey exist. 

For archery, bullseye na the smallest, sharpest point for the target. To hit am, you need focus, intention and steady hand. Spiritually, e mean to live right inside the centre of God will — where Him purpose, timing and voice dey join together with our obedience. Paul say make we chase after that exact goal of God’s high calling. Na to fix your eye for one point and no allow any distraction. Christianity no be random shooting; na pursuit with purpose. 

Christianity no be say we just dey throw arrows anyhow, dey hope make something land. God no dey bless every aim — He dey bless the aim wey align with Him heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 say when we trust the Lord and acknowledge am, He go direct our paths. Na Him dey set the target and guide the arrow. 

Jesus talk for John 4:34 say, “My food na to do the will of the One wey send Me.” That na where Him satisfaction and strength come from — to hit the bullseye of Papa God will every day. He no dey drift into distraction or self-driven ambition. He focus steadily. Even for Gethsemane, when the cost heavy, He still pray according to Luke 22:42, “But make e bi as yu wont, nor bi as I wont am.” That na the heart of person wey no wan miss the mark. 

David understand this kind pursuit too. For Psalm 27:4, he talk say him only desire na to stay inside God presence and look upon Him beauty. That kind desire dey narrow person aim. Later for Psalm 143:10, he pray make God teach am how to dey accurate. Accuracy no dey come by chance. We no dey hit the bullseye by mistake; na through surrender, train the heart to hear God voice and hand to obey God direction. 

To miss the bullseye easy well well. Life full of distractions, good opportunities wey no be God assignment, voices wey sound wise but no be Spirit-led, pressure wey dey rush person enter decision wey God no ordain. Fear fit shift our focus. Hurry, pride or the need to please people fit also bend our aim. But God for Him mercy dey always realign us. He dey adjust our posture, steady our hands, and refocus our eyes. Psalm 32:8 promise say God no go leave us to guess—He go lead us directly to the centre of Him will. 

Inside corrupt world, Genesis 6:22 say, “Noah do everything just as God command am.” That obedience na real bullseye. Through am, God preserve humanity. Even Mary for Luke 1:38, when angel tell am God plan, she surrender say, “make wetin yu tok so, happen to mi.” Her life align with heaven purpose. Paul too start by aiming wrong until God redirect am. After he meet Jesus, e become laser-focused on one thing — to fulfill the special assignment God give am. 

To live for the centre of God will dey bring peace, fruitfulness and clarity. The road no go easy, but e go dey meaningful. When your aim na God will, your decisions go get sense, your relationships go align, your steps go dey ordered. You go stop to dey struggle for opportunities and begin waka through the doors wey God open by Himself. 

Bullseye no mean perfection — e mean obedience. 

E no mean busyness — e mean alignment. 

E no mean do everything — e mean do the right thing. 

E no mean to impress — e mean to surrender. 

The sweet truth be this: God Himself want make you hit the bullseye pass you wey dey try hit am. He no dey hide Him will from you. He dey form your desire, renew your mind, and guide your steps so that your life go show God accuracy and grace. 

The bullseye of your life na God will. When your aim balance with Him Word and voice, your steps go dey sure, fruitful, and full of purpose.

·       Which distraction or fear dey move my aim from God’s will right now? 

·       Which area of my life need realignment with Scripture and Holy Spirit? 

·       Which obedient step I fit take this week to aim more directly for God’s purpose? 

PRAYER: Lord, steady my heart and sharpen my focus. Align my desire, decision and step with Your perfect will. Remove every distraction wey dey shift me off-centre and teach me to aim for wetin dey please You. Help me to live with clarity, obedience, and purpose, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
