PIDGIN CHALLENGING THE LAW OF GRAVITY!
2 Kings 6:1–7
Some profet kon tell Elisha
“Si, di place where wi dey stay too small for us. 2So make wi go Jordan aria
where wi go for get and kut betta wood kon build betta house for awasef for
der.” Elisha ansa dem, “Make una go.” 3 But one of dem tell am, “Abeg oga, make
yu follow us go.” So Elisha ansa, “Okay, I go follow una.” 4 So e follow dem
go.
Wen dem rish Jordan, dem kon
start to kut trees down. 5As dem dey kut, one of dem axe head kon fall enter
Jordan river. Den e shaut, “My oga, I don die. Na borrow I borrow dis axe o-o!”
6 So Elisha ask, “Na wish side e fall put?” So di man show am where e fall put,
den Elisha kut small branches for di tree kon drop am put for der, den di axe
head kon float kom up. 7Elisha tell di man, “Make yu pick di axe komot from di
wota.” So di man kon pick am.
Gravity na one of di most
predictable laws for creation. Wetin go up must come down. E steady, e no dey
change, and e dey work everywhere. But for 2 Kings 6:1–7, we see moment wey God
suspend natural order to show deeper truth: Him no dey limited by di laws wey
Him create. When borrowed axe head fall enter Jordan River, e suppose remain
for bottom. Iron dey sink—na di rule. But God no dey tied to rule; na Him be
Maker of rule.
Sons of di prophets been dey
for season of growth, dem dey expand their living space as sign say God dey
move among dem. Na inside this good work wahala enter. Di borrowed axe head
commot from handle, fly enter river, and sink. Di young man shout, “Alas,
master! For it was borrowed!” Him panic real. Wetin e lose really matter. And e
clear say him no get power to recover wetin don sink. Many of us know that
feeling: sometin valuable fall from our hand, sink under surface, and come look
unreachable.
But Elisha, prophet of God,
respond with calm authority. Him ask one simple but deep question: “Where did
it fall?” Many times, God dey start restoration by carrying us go back to place
of loss. Elisha cut small stick, throw am inside water, and di iron begin
float. Impossible turn possible. Natural law bow for Creator. Dis miracle no be
only about axe head—na about God wey dey step into our limitation and bring
back wetin life don drag go under.
God dey happy to step into
places where our strength stop. Di young prophet get zeal but e no get
resources. Di axe sef no be him own—na borrowed. Many of us dey serve God with
borrowed strength, borrowed courage, borrowed opportunity. We dey feel inadequate
or under‑resourced. But Bible dey
show us again and again how God dey override natural laws to reveal say Him
sufficiency complete. Moses stand before Red Sea—water no suppose divide, but e divide. Joshua
reach Jordan—river
no suppose stop, but e stop. Jesus waka for water—gravity suppose pull am down,
but e no fit. When human ability end, na there divine ability begin.
Elisha question, “Where did
it fall?” get deep spiritual meaning. God dey often ask make we go back to
exact place where sometin sink. Where your joy fall? Where your confidence
fall? Where your prayer life fall? Where your vision fall? God no dey ask to
shame us, but to restore us. Restoration dey begin with recognition. David
pray, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,” because e know where e fall
from. Na for point of loss God dey meet person.
God too dey use unlikely
methods bring unbelievable results. Stick no get power to make iron float.
Still, Elisha throw stick inside water. Many times, God dey use simple,
ordinary, sometimes even foolish things to display Him glory. Shepherd rod
divide sea. Sling and stone bring down giant. Five loaves and two fish feed
thousands. Bible remind us say God dey choose foolish things to shame wise.
When God move, method no be main point—na miracle.
When iron float, Elisha tell
di young man, “Pick it up for yourself.” God dey bring miracle within reach,
but Him dey invite us make we join for restoration. Grace and responsibility
dey work together. God fit restore marriage, but we need pick up forgiveness.
God fit restore vision, but we need pick up discipline. God fit restore
calling, but we need pick up obedience. Miracle dey bring impossible within
reach; faith dey bend down pick am.
Last‑last, this story remind us
say God no dey limited by natural law—na
Him be Lord over dem. Gravity talk say iron dey sink. God talk say iron fit
float. Biology talk say virgin no fit carry belle. God talk say she go.
Medicine talk say dead body no fit rise. God talk say dem fit. Logic talk say
five loaves no fit feed thousands. God talk say e go do. Laws of nature dey bow
for Lord of creation.
Anytime life begin feel
heavy, dey sink, or look like e don pass your hand, remember: God dey
specialize for wetin people call impossible. Wetin don sink beyond your reach
still dey well inside Him reach.
