PIDGIN COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM — BE YE SEPARATE!
2 Corinthians 6:17 Christ still sey, “Make una kom out and separate unasef from dem,” and “Make una nor tosh anytin wey nor dey klean, den I go welkom una
For believer life, e get
moments wey God go call for holy separation. No be separation of pride, feeling
better than others, or going into hiding, but separation wey come from
identity, purpose, and covenant. Paul tell us make we come out from among dem and
separate from anything wey fit weaken our faith. This one no be suggestion. Na
divine invitation to deeper intimacy, clarity, and consecration. To “come out”
mean to comot body from environments, influences, patterns, and partnerships
wey dey reduce our spiritual strength or dey spoil our waka with God. No be
only about leaving people; na to leave systems, mindsets, and cycles wey no
match our calling. Any time God call person to separate, na because Him wan
reveal Himself deeper. Every time God talk, “Come out,” Him dey also talk,
“Come closer.”
Bible show say separation
get strong foundation from beginning reach end.
Abraham na example of person
wey God call out to set apart for Genesis 12:1. God tell am make e leave him
country, him people, and him papa house go land wey God go show am. Abraham
destiny no really start until him separation start. E need leave familiar
pattern so that e go enter divine purpose. Him separation no be punishment — na
positioning. God no fit make am father of nations while him still tie to
culture wey dey worship idols.
Israel: holy nation, no be
mixed nation. For Old Testament, God dey always warn Israel make dem no mix
with nations around dem, see Leviticus 20:26 and Deuteronomy 7:3–6. No be about
tribe or colour; na about holiness. Israel suppose reflect God character, no be
copy culture values. Any time dem blend, dem dey drift. Any time dem separate,
dem dey flourish. Even today, we dey see nations and people wey mix their faith
with other religion and culture till identity begin fade.
Daniel dey Babylon but him
no be Babylon person. Daniel live inside pagan nation, serve pagan kings, and
work for pagan system — but him still remain different. Daniel 1:8 talk say,
“But Daniel decide for him heart say him no go defile himself.” Him separation
start inside before e show outside. E no run commot from society; e just refuse
to compromise. Because of that stand, God elevate am. If we look well today, we
go see say this present “Babylon” of world system get strong attraction, and
true Daniels wey no bow don scarce.
Jesus — Friend of sinners,
but separate for lifestyle. Jesus chop with sinners, love dem, heal dem,
welcome dem — but Him no carry their values or join their sin. Hebrews 7:26
describe am as “holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners.” Him separation
no be distance — na difference.
Early church for Acts 2–4
show same pattern. Dem live for same cities like other people, but their
lifestyle, generosity, unity, and devotion set dem apart. Their separation make
dem powerful witnesses. Their difference draw souls come Christ.
So, wetin e mean to be
separate today? Separation no mean say you go cut off everybody wey no agree
with you. E mean:
- Guard your heart from
influences wey dey weaken your convictions.
- Choose holiness instead of
convenience.
- Refuse partnerships wey
dey pull you away from God.
- Walk in obedience even
when e cost you.
- Set boundaries wey go
protect your spiritual health.
- Live by kingdom values
inside culture wey dey celebrate compromise.
Separation no be isolation;
na consecration.
No be withdrawal; na
alignment.
No be superiority; na
identity.
God dey call you to be
separate because you belong to Him.
Why God dey call us
out?
- To protect our purity
(Psalm 1:1–3).
- To preserve our destiny
(Jeremiah 1:5).
- To sharpen our spiritual
sense (Romans 12:2).
- To prepare us for greater
assignment (2 Timothy 2:21).
- To reveal Him glory
through us (Matthew 5:14–16).
For Scripture, every
separation lead to elevation. Every consecration lead to revelation. Every
distinction lead to demonstration.
And promise wey follow
separation be say God talk, “I will receive you.”
Separation dey lead to
acceptance, embrace, and deeper fellowship with God. When you commot from wetin
dey drain you, you dey step into wetin dey sustain you.
