PIDGIN DISPLACEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT!

Efesians 4:22–25

Koncerning di kind life wey una dey live before, wi sey make una trowey dat bad spirit wey dey make una do bad-bad tins 23and make una dey tink betta tins for una mind. 24Den, true raitiousness and holiness wey di trut dey bring, make una wear di new man wey God don kreate like ensef.

25Since una don stop to lie, make una start to tok trut give una neighbour, bikos all of us na membas for Christ body.

This theme create clear picture of biblical road wey lead to real and lasting transformation.

E show us clearly from Scripture say God no dey remove something for our life without replacing am with something better. True change always require two things: something must go, and something better must come take its place.

One of the most practical spiritual principles for Bible na this: anything wey comot must get replacement. God no dey call us make we empty our life without filling am with something greater. This pattern — displacement for replacement — dey run through the whole Bible and e show how believers dey grow, overcome, and walk for lasting freedom.

Jesus explain this principle well for Matthew 12:43–45. He talk about one unclean spirit wey leave person and later come back. When the spirit return, e see say the house clean, swept, and arranged, but empty. Because the place empty, the spirit go bring seven other spirits worse pass am come enter again. The condition of the person become worse than before.

The warning serious: deliverance without discipleship dey dangerous. Empty space no dey neutral. When something bad comot, something from God must take its place — His presence, His truth, and spiritual practices wey go keep the heart steady.

This same pattern show again for Paul teaching about spiritual growth. Believers are told to put off the old self, renew the mind, then put on the new self.

See the order: removal, renewal, replacement.

Paul no just say make we stop sinning. He show the replacement.

Lies must be replaced with truth.

Anger must be replaced with reconciliation.

Stealing must be replaced with generosity.

Corrupt speech must be replaced with words wey build people up.

Bitterness must be replaced with kindness and forgiveness.

The gospel no leave us empty; e fill us with a new way to live.

This principle show for the Old Testament too. When Israel leave Egypt, God no just remove them from slavery; He replace their identity as slaves with covenant identity as His special people.

When idols were destroyed, people build altar to the Lord for their place.

When Joshua lead Israel enter the Promised Land, they were not only to remove the nations there, but also establish God’s worship, laws, and lifestyle for the land.

Displacement without replacement dey lead to relapse.

Displacement with replacement dey lead to renewal.

Jesus also teach this truth about the heart. He explain say the Father dey prune fruitful branches so they can bear more fruit. Pruning na displacement — removing things wey hinder growth. But the goal no be emptiness; na abundance.

For Galatians 5, the works of the flesh are displaced so that the fruit of the Spirit can grow.

The Spirit no just remove anger, envy, or impurity. He replace them with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and selfcontrol.

Transformation no be subtraction alone. Na divine addition.

Even spiritual disciplines follow this same pattern.

Fasting remove physical appetite so spiritual hunger fit grow.

Worship remove fear and replace am with reverence for God.

Gratitude remove anxiety and replace am with trust.

Meditating on Scripture remove lies and replace them with truth.

Every spiritual discipline remove something and replace am with something better.

Why this matter? Because many believers experience breakthrough and later setback.

They stop bad habit but no cultivate holy habit.

They reject lie but no practice truth.

They leave toxic relationship but no build healthy community.

They receive deliverance but no follow discipleship.

The result na empty house — clean but empty, arranged but unguarded.

But God desire no be just to free us from something. He want to fill us with Someone.

The greatest replacement na the Holy Spirit. “Dey filled with the Spirit.” This no be onetime experience; na continuous life.

The Spirit remove fear and replace am with power, love, and sound mind.

He remove condemnation and replace am with assurance.

He replace the old life with the life of Christ.

When the Spirit fill the house, the enemy no get space to return.

Displacement for replacement na God’s strategy for lasting transformation.

Na the rhythm of sanctification.

Na the pattern of spiritual maturity.

Na the pathway to lasting freedom.

When God remove, He restore.

He uproots but He also plants.

He empties but He also fills.

And when God fill, He fill to overflowing.
