PIDGIN DRESSED FOR HELL!
Matthew 22:13–14 “13“Den di king tell en savants, ‘Make una tie en hand and leg trow am outside for darkness, where e go kry and grind en tit.’
14“Na only few pipol God
choose from di many wey e koll.”
Bible give us serious
warning: no be everybody wey look spiritually dressed really ready for heaven.
Some people don wear clothes wey fit dem well—no be for God presence—but for
destruction. Hell no be only destination; e be like wardrobe. And many people
don wear hell cloth without even know.
For Matthew 22:1–14, Jesus
give parable of wedding banquet. One man enter party without correct wedding
cloth. Dem invite am, e show, e even sit down—but e dress wrong. Di king
reaction serious: “Tie am hand and leg… throw am go outer darkness.” Him cloth
expose him heart. E want blessings of di kingdom without di change wey King
require. Him outward look show inward refusal to change. Dis story remind us
say spiritual clothing dey matter. Wetin we wear for spirit dey show who we
really belong to.
One of di first clothes wey
dey align person with destruction na garment of pride. Pride na cloth wey
Lucifer don wear before e turn human being problem. Isaiah 14:12–15 describe
being wey wrap himself with self‑exaltation
and independence from God. Pride na hell material—woven with thread of self‑worship and refusal to take
correction. Any time person reject repentance because “I dey okay as I be,” e don wear hell colour.
When pesin insist on him own way against God Word, e dey dress like di one wey
fall from heaven. James 4:6 warn say “God dey resist proud.” If God Himself
resist you, where remain for pesin go, if no be far from Him?
Another cloth wey dey
prepare person for destruction na unforgiveness. Jesus talk am clear: “If you
no forgive others, your Father no go forgive you” (Matthew 6:15). Unforgiveness
na heavy dark cloth wey dey choke heart and cover eye. Na hell cloak because e
resemble hell nature—hell na di only place wey mercy no dey. For parable of
unforgiving servant, di man wey refuse forgive end up for hand of tormentors.
Unforgiveness dey dress us with torment before eternity even start.
Hypocrisy na another robe
wey dey lead to destruction. Jesus use Him strongest rebuke for people wey wear
religious cloth but get hellish heart. E call dem “whitewashed tombs”—fine for
outside, dead for inside. Hypocrisy dangerous because e dey deceive both di
person wey wear am and di people wey dey look. Pesin fit preach, sing, serve,
yet still naked for God front. Revelation 3:17 talk about church wey think say
dem rich but actually “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Hell full
of people wey look holy but live empty.
Compromise na another quiet
but deadly garment. Lot wife wear dis cloth. She commot for Sodom, but Sodom no
commot from her. Her backward look show attachment wey still dey inside.
Compromise no dey shout; e dey whisper. E no dey always tell you make you turn
back fully; e just tell you make you lean small. When believers dress with
compromise, dem blend with world so tey heaven no fit separate dem. Romans
13:14 command us make we “put on the Lord Jesus Christ and no give flesh
chance.” Compromise na hell fashion because e slowly dey remove garment of
righteousness from soul.
Rebellion na another cloth
wey lead to destruction. Rebellion pass ordinary disobedience; na posture of
heart. Bible call am “as the sin of witchcraft” (1 Samuel 15:23). Saul lose him
kingdom because e wear rebellion like royal robe. Hell full of rebels—people
wey hear God voice but choose their own way. Every time we talk, “I know wetin
God talk, but…” we don begin try hell clothes.
But good news dey: heaven
get dress code too. God dey offer different garment—robe of righteousness
(Isaiah 61:10). No be we sew am; Christ give am. No be we earn am; we receive
am. No be we dey perfect am; na Spirit dey maintain am. To dey dressed for heaven
na to dey clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:27). To dey dressed for hell na to
dey clothed with self. Every day, whether we know or we no know, we dey choose
our spiritual outfit.
