PIDGIN INTERNAL, EXTERNAL, AND ETERNAL HAPPINESS!
Psalm 1 “God go bless di pesin wey nor dey follow wiked pipol advise, dey waka with sinnas or sidan with aproko pipol!
2Instead, e dey always dey
happy to obey God kommand
and na both for day and nite, e dey study dem.
3E bi like tree wey dem plant near wota; wey dey bear fruit for di korrect time and en leaf nor dey dry. E dey prosper for anytin wey e do.
4But nor bi so e bi for wiked pipol! Instead, dem bi like leaf wey breeze blow trowey.
5Bikos of dis, wiked pipol
nor go fit stand for Judgement Day
and sinnas nor go fit dey
for where God pipol gada put.
6True-true, God dey guide en pipol for evritin wey dem dey do, but E go distroy doz wey nor dey follow en ways.
Dis Scripture show wetin
real happiness look like. Verse 2 talk say di blessed person na di one wey dey
happy for di law of the Lord and dey think am day and night.
See di three‑fold pattern of happiness?
Internal, external, and eternal—na
di flow wey come from life wey don root deep for God Word.
Internal happiness na when
your heart don balance well for God. E be dat steady joy wey dey inside person
even when life for outside dey shake. E no depend on how things dey, wetin we
achieve, or wetin people think about us. Dis kind joy dey grow as we dey find
sweet for God Word.
To delight na something wey
start from heart. Na the inner posture of person—soul wey dey find pleasure,
comfort, and identity for wetin God don talk.
For Luke 10:38‑42, Mary sit down for Jesus
feet just dey listen to am while Martha dey run up and down with plenty wahala,
but Mary choose wetin go bring joy—just
to dey with Christ and hear Him Word.
Jesus praise her choice and
say, “E no go ever comot from her.” Na dis be internal happiness: to choose
presence over pressure, devotion over distraction.
When God Word become our
delight, e go quietly shape di way we dey think, balance our emotions, and give
us strength from inside. Na why Paul fit say, “Even though our body dey waste
away, but inside we dey renew everyday” (2 Corinthians 4:16).
Internal happiness na God
wey dey renew fruit inside heart.
External happiness na life
wey dey show outside. Verse 3 say: “E be like tree wey dem plant near water,
wey dey bear fruit for him time and him leaf no dey dry.” Dis na picture of
external happiness—wetin people fit see. E no mean say person get plenty money,
status or easy life. E mean life wey dey bear fruit, dey bless people around,
and still stand strong when storm blow.
Joseph for Genesis 39‑41 show dis kind example.
Even after dem sell am as slave and later throw am for prison, Bible talk many
times say: “The
Lord dey with Joseph, and he prosper.” Him
inner trust for God bring favour, wisdom, and fruitfulness wey people fit see.
Him life bless Potiphar house, prison where dem keep am, and finally whole
nation.
External happiness dey grow
from internal balance with God. When heart don root well for Word, our action
go begin change. Our hand go dey do good, our word go dey carry life, and our
full life go shine as witness to God goodness.
Jesus say, “Good tree no fit
bear bad fruit” (Matthew 7:18). Healthy fruit for outside mean say di inside
don healthy too.
Eternal happiness na di joy
wey pass time. Verse 6 end am well: “The Lord dey watch over di way of di
righteous, but di way of di wicked go perish.” Eternal happiness na final and
complete blessing—God favour, presence, and reward wey pass dis life. Na assurance
say our joy no stop inside grave.
Di thief for Luke 23:39‑43, repent for cross meet
eternal happiness just before he die. He no get chance to go back fix im past
or do new good works. All he fit do na to turn to Jesus and ask for mercy.
Jesus answer, “Today you go
dey with me for paradise.” Eternal happiness no be by perfect record; e dey
come by real relationship with Christ.
Eternal happiness dey give
meaning to both internal and external happiness. Without eternity, even our
best joy go still vanish. But when eternity dey for our mind, even hardest
season go get purpose. Paul talk for Romans 8:18 say, “Our small sufferings now
no reach di glory wey go show for us.” Dat future glory dey change how we see
pain today.
Eternal happiness dey come
as we waka for His ways till di end.
Di world dey chase happiness
through money, achievements, and enjoyment. But Bible turn am upside down. E
show say lasting happiness no dey start from outside come inside; e start from
heart, move outside, and finally go up to eternity with God.
As we dey meditate on God
Word, we go be like tree wey dem plant, wey dey get water, bear fruit, and no
dey dry. Our joy go dey steady, our life go get quiet impact, and our eternity
go dey safe with Christ.
