4 So make yu fear God and
nor sin. Make yu tink about am for nite kon turn from yor sins.
5Make yu offa sakrifice with
di rite spirit give God kon trust am.
6Many pipol dey sey, “Who go
fit show us wetin dey good?” So my God, make Yu smile for us.
7Yu don give mi more joy
pass doz wey get many food and wine to drink.
8 I dey sleep with peace, bikos
na only Yu wey bi my God, dey save mi.
Prayer na compulsory and
powerful weapon for Christian warfare, but many people no get powerful prayer
life because dem either no understand the principle of prayer or dem confuse
about how prayer dey work. Prayer na relationship, no be routine. Prayer na the
place where you meet God heart‑to‑heart. E no be just to talk;
na to connect. God dey invite you into conversation because He want
relationship, not performance.
For general sense, prayer na
the act of asking God for favour, especially with seriousness and strong
desire. Prayer as worship na solemn talk to Almighty God, wey include adoration
(to express how God dey glorious and perfect), confession of our sins, to beg
for mercy and forgiveness, intercession to ask blessing for ourselves and
others, and thanksgiving to show gratitude to God for Him mercy and
benefits.
Prayer na place of exchange.
You bring your weakness, God give you strength. You bring confusion, He give
you clarity. You bring burden, He give you peace. Prayer na where this divine
exchange dey happen.
We dey pray to God wey dey
listen and hear us when we call am, as He promise for Jeremiah 33:3. For
prayer, we carry our anxieties go meet God wey wise, loving and sovereign, as
we confess and repent from wrong and sin according to Psalm 66:17–18. The
psalmist no talk say because prayer strong, our distress go just disappear;
many times people stop prayer because the answer wey dem expect no be wetin dem
see or e take long before e come.
Jesus command us to pray,
and He use Matthew 7:7–11 as springboard to show how and why we must pray. Na
three requirements dey for prayer: Ask, Seek and Knock (ASK). These three words
dey present tense, and e show continuous action — keep asking, keep seeking and
keep knocking. All three command get response from God: when you ask, you go
receive; when you seek, you go find; and the door go open to the person wey dey
knock. And if we do all these prayerfully with faith, God dey answer.
Prayer na spiritual posture,
no be only spoken word. You fit pray with silence, with tears, with gratitude,
with obedience, with waiting. Sometimes the deepest prayers no get sound at
all.
Every Christian suppose
learn to go on their knees before dem stand on their feet. As great and
powerful as God dey, He no fit answer prayer wey nobody pray, so pray. God dey
wait make you pray and prevail with the authority wey dey in the name of Jesus,
as John 14:14 talk. Prayer no be say we dey send God make He do our will, but
na we dey do God will.
Praying with power fit open
and close doors, heal the sick, move heaven and earth and restore life, because
God dey answer prayer as the only true God according to Deuteronomy 6:4.
Anointed and spiritual warfare prayer wey get power dey carry us from need
level go faith and trust level; na when we pray with faith to see God hand and
will done, no be just because we want something from the Lord.
We must enter prayer with
expectation as Proverbs 10:28, 23:28 show, and with faith as Mark 11:22–24
talk, to ask for anything, big or small, as John 14:13 talk. Our prayer must
follow God will as 1 John 5:14–15 declare. God word and Him will together be
like nuclear bomb to scatter the enemy, powerful weapon. We fit be like the
blind man for Mark 10:51 and pray clear and specific prayer without confusion.
You get power and authority inside the word of God, the blood of Jesus and the
authority wey dey Him name as both natural and supernatural weapons, so pray
with power with wetin God don give you.
