PIDGIN ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN LOVE!

Efesians 3:17 “ So dat Christ go dey inside una heart thru faith and wen una don strong well-well inside God love,

 

Paul prayer for Ephesians 3:17 na one of the most tender and powerful blessing for New Testament. This words no be only fine grammar. Paul dey describe life wey don anchor deep for God love so tay everything for the life dey build on top that foundation. 

To dey rooted in love mean say na from Christ love we dey draw our life, strength and stability. Root dey hide under ground, but na dem determine how strong and healthy the tree go be. Na so too, the secret place of our heart – wetin we really believe, our identity, wetin give us value – suppose dey hook for God love, no be for performance, people approval or up‑and‑down situation. 

Jeremiah 17:7–8 give us strong picture: person wey trust God be “like a tree wey dey waterside, en roots dey spread out by the river.” Even when heat and drought show, that tree still green and dey bear fruit. When our root deep for inside God love, pressure, disappointment and long waiting no go fit shake us. Na Him love go be the steady river wey dey keep us alive and dey grow. 

From here we see say Paul want make Christ really live Him life inside us and through us according to Galatians 2:20, to make our heart Him permanent home as John 14:23 talk. 

Jesus use this same kind language for John 15:9: “As the Father love Me, na so I love una. Abide in My love.” To abide mean to remain, stay connected, continue to draw from Him love every moment. No be one‑off spiritual high, na steady lifestyle and heart posture. 

To dey grounded in love talk about foundation – like house wey dem build on solid rock. Jesus talk for Matthew 7:24–25 say wise person dey build house on top rock so that when storm blow, the house still stand. Love na that rock. No be human love wey dey change anyhow, but God covenant love – steady, faithful and eternal. 

When we dey grounded in love, love go become the frame wey guide how we dey think, talk and respond. E go shape our decisions, boundaries, readiness to forgive and our generosity. E mean say fear no go rule us again as 1 John 4:18 show, insecurity or comparison no go dey control us, but deep assurance say God know us finish and still love us completely. 

Paul no just dey pray make we sabi about God love. E dey pray make we live inside am. The word “dwell” mean to settle down, make home. Christ wan make Him home for our hearts – no be as visitor wey dey come once, but as Person wey go shape the whole atmosphere of our inner life. E possible make Christ dey inside us but we still keep am like guest for one small room of our heart. Christ wan make Him and us use the whole house together – every corner of our inner being. E want make we understand say the whole house na Him own, no be our own. 

When Christ truly dwell inside us, love go become like the “climate” of our heart. E go change how we see ourselves and how we see other people. E go soften wetin don hard, heal wetin don wound and strengthen wetin don weak. 

Mary of Bethany for Luke 10:38–42 sit down for Jesus feet, rooted for Him presence and grounded for Him love. While others dey run up and down with different distraction, she choose to remain close to the One wey love her. 

Joseph for Genesis 37–50 pass betrayal, slavery and prison, but e still remain grounded for God love and character. Because him identity root for God, e fit forgive him brothers. 

John the Apostle call himself “the disciple wey Jesus love.” No be pride – na identity. To dey rooted in love mark him ministry, writing and the tenderness wey e get toward the Church. 

To live rooted and grounded in love today mean to live from place of security, no be struggling and striving. Na to allow God love define our worth and make Him love touch and heal our past. Rooted and grounded go hold us steady for uncertain seasons. 

We no dey reach this level by just trying harder; e dey grow as we dey rooted and grounded in Christ.

·       Where I most need my roots to go deeper into God love right now? 

·       Which parts of my life still dey build on fear, insecurity or performance instead of love? 

·       Which simple practice fit help me create more space every day for Christ to “dwell” for my heart? 

PRAYER: Lord God, plant me deep inside Your love make Your presence fit dwell for my heart and shape every part of my life. Strengthen my roots, steady my foundation and teach me to abide inside Your love every day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
