CHILD-FRIENDLY COMPROMISE!
Deuteronomy 5:31-33 GNT
But you, Moses, stay here
with me, and I will give you all my laws and commands. Teach them to the
people, so that they will obey them in the land that I am giving them.' [32]
"People of Israel, be sure that you do everything that the LORD your God has
commanded you. Do not disobey any of his laws. [33] Obey them all, so that
everything will go well with you and so that you will continue to live in the
land that you are going to occupy.
Compromise means giving a
little so that everyone can agree. In friendships and family, compromise helps
us live in peace. But when it comes to God and His Word, we must never
compromise. God’s ways are perfect, straight, and cannot be mixed with wrong ideas
or behaviour.
Daniel and his three friends
understood this. In Daniel 1:8–14, they refused to eat the king’s food because
it went against what God taught them. They were respectful, but they stood
firm. They agreed to a test, but they did not change their obedience to God.
This shows us that sometimes we can compromise on small things, but never on
God’s truth.
Today, many people try to
change the Bible to fit what they want. But 2 Peter 1:20 teaches that God’s
Word cannot be twisted. When we compromise even a little on what is right, it
becomes easier to do wrong again. A small wrong choice can grow into a big
problem.
Moses also refused to
compromise. Even though he grew up in Pharaoh’s palace (Exodus 2:10), he chose
to follow God instead of enjoying temporary pleasures (Hebrews 11:25). He knew
God’s reward was better.
We live in a world that
often rewards bad behaviour and makes fun of good choices. But like Daniel and
Moses, we must stand for what is right. Compromise becomes wrong when it makes
us disobey God or stay silent when we should speak up.
Do not compromise your
spiritual race. Choose God’s way every time.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS

small choices do I face each day where I must choose between right and
wrong?
· How
can Daniel’s and Moses’ examples help me stand strong for God?
· What
is one way I can obey God this week, even if others don’t agree?
