CHILD-FRIENDLY THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE!

Revelation 20:12 GNT

And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.

 

The Bible tells us about a very important moment in the future when everyone will stand before God. John says he saw books opened, and then another book, called the Lamb’s Book of Life. This book belongs to Jesus, the Lamb of God.

The Lamb’s Book of Life is real. It is God’s special book that has the names of everyone who has believed in Jesus, accepted His salvation, and chosen to follow Him. Having your name in this book is the greatest gift anyone can ever receive.

In Bible times, cities kept lists of their citizens. If someone did something very wrong, their name could be removed. But God’s book is different. Jesus told His disciples to rejoice because their names were written in heaven (Luke 10:20). This means our identity is not in what we do, but in belonging to God.

We do not earn a place in this book by being perfect. We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). Jesus writes our names because of His love and sacrifice.

Lydia in Acts 16:13–15 shows us how someone’s name enters this book. She loved God, but she still needed Jesus. The Bible says, “The Lord opened her heart.” She listened, believed, and was baptised. Her life changed immediately—she became generous and welcoming. Salvation always brings change.

Revelation 20 reminds us that only one book matters in the end—the Lamb’s Book of Life. If your name is there, you belong to Jesus forever. This truth helps us live holy, stay strong in faith, share the gospel, and remember that heaven is our home.

Jesus promises, “I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life” (Revelation 3:5). Our names are safe with Him.
