CHILD-FRIENDLY PAINFUL BUT GAINFUL!
James 1:2-3 GNT
My friends, consider
yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, [3] for you know
that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability
to endure.
Sometimes life feels hard.
Pain shows up like an unwanted visitor. It makes us sad, confused, or
uncomfortable. But the Bible teaches us something important: God can use
painful moments to help us grow. James says we will all face trials, not just
sometimes but always at different times in life. Pain does not mean God has
left us. Many times, it means He is shaping us.
Pain never feels good, but
in God’s hands, it has a purpose. Trials help our faith become stronger. They
teach us endurance, which means learning to keep going even when things are
tough. Endurance is not built when everything is easy. It grows when we face
challenges.
Think about Joseph. His
brothers hurt him, he was sold as a slave, and he even went to prison. It was
painful, but God used every step to prepare him for a great future. What looked
bad became something good.
Think about Hannah. She
cried many tears because she could not have a child. But her pain pushed her to
pray. God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel, a child who became a great
prophet.
Even Jesus went through
pain. He suffered on the cross, but the result was our salvation. His pain
brought the greatest gain.
James tells us to count it
all joy. This does not mean we enjoy the pain. It means we trust that God is
working through it. Trials help us grow, become stronger, and depend more on
God.
God never wastes pain. He
uses it to make us mature, steady, and complete. What feels painful today may
become your testimony tomorrow.
