CHILD-FRIENDLY SEEKING AND FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN AND PURPOSE!

2 Timothy 2:19 CSB

Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.

 

2 Timothy 2:19 teaches us two important truths: God knows who belongs to Him, and His children should choose to do what is right. This helps us understand how to follow God’s plan for our lives. God always starts by reminding us that we are His. Before He shows us what to do, He wants us to know how much He loves us. Jesus said, “I know My sheep,” and God says, “You are Mine.” When we believe this, we feel safe and can trust Him more.

Living in a way that pleases God helps us hear Him better. God doesn’t ask us to be perfect—He asks us to stay close to Him and turn away from wrong choices. Things like lying, unforgiveness, or bad attitudes can make it harder to hear God’s voice. But when our hearts are clean and open, we feel His peace and direction more clearly.

When we seek God with our whole heart, like it says in Jeremiah 29:13, we find Him. This means talking to God, reading the Bible, and listening for His gentle voice. God often guides us one step at a time—just like He did with Samuel, Abraham, David, and many others in the Bible.

Obedience shows that we truly want to follow God. Jesus says that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. Sometimes what God asks may feel small or unusual, but when we say “yes,” He leads us beautifully. God also uses peace, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit to guide us.

God’s plan helps us grow, learn, and become who He created us to be. We are His special workmanship!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

·       How is God reminding me that I am His child? 

·       Is there something I need to stop doing so I can hear God better? 

·       What small step is God asking me to take today?

PRAYER: Father, thank You for loving me and calling me Your child. Help my heart stay pure and close to You. Teach me to listen, obey, and trust You every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
