CHILD-FRIENDLY TRUTH WITH GRACE: THE WAY OF CHRIST!

John 1:14 GNT

The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.

 

Truth without grace can feel harsh. Grace without truth can feel confusing. But Jesus shows us the perfect way—He came full of grace and truth. He didn’t choose one or the other. He carried both together, and He wants us to do the same.

Some people are very good at telling the truth. Others are very good at showing kindness. But Jesus teaches us that we need both. 

- Truth helps us know what is right. 

- Grace helps us when we make mistakes. 

When we use truth and grace together, we show the heart of God.

In John 8, a woman was caught doing something wrong. The leaders wanted to punish her. They had truth—but no grace. Jesus showed both. 

- He said, “I don’t condemn you.” 

  Grace.

- Then He said, “Go and sin no more.” 

  Truth.

Jesus didn’t shame her, and He didn’t ignore her sin. He helped her stand up and start again. That is what truth with grace looks like.

In our relationships, we must do the same. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to “speak the truth in love.” Truth said in anger can hurt. Truth said with love can heal. Grace without truth leaves people stuck. Truth without grace leaves people sad. But together, they bring life.

Even inside our own hearts, we need both. 

- The Holy Spirit convicts us—truth. 

- The Holy Spirit comforts us—grace. 

He helps us grow to be more like Jesus.

Proverbs 3:3–4 reminds us to keep mercy and truth close to us always.

·       Do I show more truth or more grace? 

·       Who needs truth wrapped in kindness from me this week? 

·       How has Jesus shown me both truth and grace?

PRAYER: Father, fill me with the heart of Jesus—full of grace and truth. Help me speak kindly, love wisely, and live like You. Amen.
